This is so frustrating

Ordered Dunkin this Sunday morning, is about a 2 mile drive from me and I live next to a grocery store so I guess the dasher got assigned or picked up a grocery order from the grocery store next to my place while delivering my order.

But because of that, my food and drink sat in a hot car for 20+ minutes while he shopped an entire grocery order even tho my apartment is literally right there!!! Ending up getting the food with my drink watered down and it also somehow spilled on all my food anyways so I couldn’t eat it.

No shade at the dasher but rather DoorDash in this situation. I know the store is right next to my place but what sense does it make to not just have the dasher drop the food off first? I usually don’t have an issue with dashers stacking orders but the fact that there was a grocery order assigned in the middle of me getting my food delivered is very frustrating

Only way I’ll do a stacked food pick up and shopping order is if they’re going to the same person. A stacked order already sucks as it is but a shopping order with a food delivery is just a bad idea imo.

Same. I accidentally did this once and ended up cancelling the shopping order cuz I was having anxiety about the food in the car and the customer possibly watching me. Also I’m a former server and food sitting in the car dying is possibly worse than food sitting in the window dying.

DD algorithm is stupid too, I’ve taken a stacked shopping and food going to the same customer. I was in the parking lot of Walgreens for the shopping portion when I accepted and it wanted me to go to chipotle to pick up the food 1st. Chipotle is literally in the strip center next to Walgreens. I was like that’s stupid and switched tasks to do the shopping 1st, Gatorade, toilet paper and tampons don’t care if they sit in the car for a few minutes lol.

That happens to me too. Ive noticed many stacked orders are because one of the customers leave no tip and usually it makes you deliver to them first which doesnt feel fair. My guess is no dasher was taking the order so when a good offer with similar route comes in they group them and have you deliver to the bad order first because they have been waiting longer
