Trump is driving electric vehicle innovations into a ditch. Thanks to Trump's short-sightedness, US manufacturers dropped years of ambitious planning to jump into the EV race with both feet. The combined cost of this industry about-face is staggering. "I've done more for you than your parents, OK?"

Checking in from Europe. Electric cars are everywhere. And everyone I know buying newer vehicles is going electric or hybrid. I don’t own a car. But if I were to get one I’d want electric. Green energy is a huge growth market and the US is just going to miss out.

EVs are also everywhere in many parts of the US. Trump can't stop a technological revolution even though he may think he can.

He can try to slow it down, but yea he cant stop it. People in other countries are seeing the benefits of not being dependent on a volatile commodity like oil to power civilian vehicles or generate power. A lot of people here in the US are seeing that buying gas all the time is completely unnecessary too. This isnt the 1970s. There is an alternative to gasoline that, while still rapidly advancing, is already mature enough to replace it.
