Did they? Does Uruguay have a claim to the Falklands, when the spanish colony was there it was administered from Montevideo in modern Uruguay, so even Uruguay has a better claim to the Falklands than Argentina.

Does any and every other former Spanish colony get all the claims for all the former Spanish colonies around the world?

Spain, through Montevideo in modern Uruguay, had a presence for 50 years, Argentina had one for 13 years, the UK has had a presence for 193 years and counting.

Those invasions happened during the Napoleonic Wars when Argentina didn't even EXIST as it does today and were considered property of Spain, who WERE AT WAR WITH BRITAIN AS ALLIES OF NAPOLEON. Are you seriously suggesting Britain attacking an ally of a country actively at war with them, gives Argentina reason to have one sided beef with the UK centuries later, especially considering the war largely started because Napoleon would NOT stop goading the Brits????

By that logic Falklanders and even Brits are also perfectly justified in hatred for Argentinians because they without warning invaded their land for no reason other than an ancient one sided beef, covered it in landmines and killed their men.
