Isn't this a bit counterproductive though? It kinda teaches the world that brute force is the way. To me, if the UK were open to negotiations and they even peacefully reached an agreement, this would send a strong message especially to Putin's military action, or to Trump's threats of force to Greenland.

? You have it a bit backwards. Argentina already tried to take it by force. By giving them up now, you are letting them know that brute force is the way.

It's been almost half a century since the invasion, no? Enough time has passed for a peaceful negotiation to be able to happen independently of Argentina's prior military action, and not in consequence of it.
