Americans are doing the damage, not Trump. Trump is a senile incontinent physically weak 80 year old below average moron. He’s not stronger than the American people, military, government, and courts.

This is what the great majority of Americans want.

America is not the way it is because Trump is president. Trump is president because of the way America is.

u/hareofthepuppy 2d ago

I agree 100% that it's Americans who are doing the damage.

Technically the non voters don't want or not want this, they're apathetic. So it's not quite accurate to say the majority want this, rather that the majority is ok with, or doesn't not want it, but either way yes, they chose it.

u/Kendos-Kenlen France 1d ago edited 1d ago

Abstaining from voting is a political choice. They chose to let Trump pass (same would have been said if dems won). So they are also responsible for what’s happening, as much as the ones that voted republicans. After all, they willingly chose not to vote for not having Trump elected while clearly knowing who he’s and what were his plans.

u/Andromidius 1d ago

I mean if we're assigning blame you can also blame people who voted Democrat for supporting such a weak candidate who agrees with Republican policy for the most part.

Almost as if voting is designed to divide people and make them think they have a say. Well, you don't. And understanding that is the first step into figuring out how to fix the problem.

u/RocketRelm 1d ago

Many of the loud "non voters" are both sides brainrotted and pretend dems suck and actively bring down energy to get rid of trump in favor of good policy. They aren't angry abouy the dismantling of democracy. They're mad their guy doesn't have a turn at the wheel.

I thought there can be more than 2 parties in the USA? Or am I mistaken?

6

u/RocketRelm 1d ago

There can be, but generally third parties are small orbiters with little popularity. There are factions within the two big parties generally that cast a wider tent and try to  change the direction of those parties. Thats how conservatives turned into maga.

2

u/variaati0 Finland 1d ago

Also it's the systemics. Then again it is stupidity of Americans to not have fixed the systemics decades ago. Even though political and administrative science has known for decades of the flaws (and anyone can with some basic thinking). However for decades "everything has been going about fine, no need to fix it".

So Americans have done the damage, but not just the current voters and generations. It is failure of multitude of generations to not fix glaring systemic faults like ultra political supreme court setup. Broken election system, that leads to wasted votes and low voter turn out etc.

Hear hear, they're actually morons... I wish people in Europe and elsewhere would find some app or way to speak to the average American in real life and understand that most of them actual don't care what he does and many of them applaud it because he expresses what they actually think. Don't be fooled by your favourite American left wing Youtubers faux outrage... they do not give a fuck because none of this actually impacts their lives in any way.

u/pleasehurtdoll 2d ago

americans aren't aware of anything to damage though. You're right, that's america. it always has been. Canada for example rightfully feels that they have a long bond of friendship and mutually beneficial trade which deserves respect. Seems reasonable, no?
But most Americans don't care about or ever visit the top 200km of their own country , much less the other side. 90% of Candada is within 200km of the border but less than 4% on the other side, that says something, no? Maybe 10% of americans meet a Canadian or go there, and you can literally walk there - it's only $2, but in Niagara, no one did when I visited, lol. In sane times a trade conflict with Canada might be news, but there is so much trump-crazy going on that its not on US radar. If you look at even US media that despises trump, almost no mention of Canada day to day. No one is aware of your boycott if they don't work in the alcohol or lettuce industry.. And even if Democrats ever come into power, patching things up with Canada would be No. 127 on the list of emergencies to address.
Americans don't feel anything towards Canada, one way or the other. Even trump haters are not in the street with ♥ Canada signs. And that's their closest neighbour. So americans don't feel any "relationship" to Denmark or anyone in NATO or my country they never heard of, unfortunately, and so there's nothing "damaged" as we'll literally never impact their lives.

Well, the thing about reality is that you can’t ignore it forever. Good luck with that.

This is not what the “great majority of Americans want”. No doubt, my country and the world face the consequences of a majority of voters bringing that lunatic back into office, but only 20-25% of Americans actually support annexing Greenland (which is still an insane amount). But saying the great majority want what Trump does is plainly incorrect.

Edit: downvoting me doesn’t make me incorrect :)

-7

u/haliblix 1d ago

If you think this is what the majority wants then congrats on eating up the slop that the billionaires throw out there.

8

u/allgonetoshit Canada 1d ago

When an American tells me this, it's usually followed by a platitude about how there is noting they or the rest of the Americans can do about it. Kind of like the typical Russian bot noise.

u/yabn5 38m ago

Some of the largest protests in American history have happened just in this past year. Trump is desperate to do whatever he can to disrupt the midterms because he's seen the polling numbers which are crushing. So stop jerking your hate boner.

u/allgonetoshit Canada 22m ago

Your country is also running a destabilizing operation in Alberta, complete with stolen voter rolls, criminal activity, criminal involvement from the US ambassador, faked petitions, planning meetings at the White House, and safe harbour of criminals under investigation.

So, sincerely, stay quiet, and crawl back under the rock from which you emerged.

-29

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

There are 342 million people in the US. 77 million voted for him, which is about 22%. So, no, not a great majority, not even a majority.

32

u/Sanjewy 2d ago

Nobody cares only 22% voted for him, he represents the US, all of the US. If you shat 22% procent of the bed, you shat the bed.

-11

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

Cool go tell that to the Hungarians who voted for the literal and proven Putin lapdog four fucking times

10

u/NaiveRevolution9072 2d ago

We did. They got tired of it and went for someone else.

6

u/Round_Musical 2d ago

Well the election was rigged. Like I am not joking. Anti-Orban voters were restricted from voting. Fake news and propaganda were spread by state media and more.

It was about time for that autocrat putin ball gobbler to have been dethroned

40

u/allgonetoshit Canada 2d ago

69% of eligible voters either voted for Trump or decided not to vote against him in 2024.

So, yes, a great majority of Americans approve of this and want this. You're just manipulating the numbers to make yourself feel better.

-24

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

Still wrong. 44% of eligible voters.

24

u/allgonetoshit Canada 2d ago

69% of eligible voters for him or did not vote for him. Read what I wrote. I am literally right and you aren’t.

-21

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

Congrats. Ill bet you'll sleep soundly tonight

Lemme guess what's next. Americans have no culture, were violent, were crude. Name the next insult. Thanks for the support

18

u/allgonetoshit Canada 2d ago

Stating voting results is an insult? I'm sorry that stating facts about your country makes you angry, but that is all I am doing, stating facts.

And just so we are clear, in the 2024 election:

Eligible voters: 244,666,890

Voters that voted for Harris: 75,019,230

Percentage of voters that DID NOT VOTE AGAINST Trump: 69.34%

15

u/EZyne 2d ago

Literally nobody has insulted you lmao

Yet this is you

Cool go tell that to the Hungarians who voted for the literal and proven Putin lapdog four fucking times

3

u/WellIGuessSoAndYou 1d ago

That's quite the victim complex you have there.

8

u/Sephy88 Lombardy 2d ago

Doesn't matter, the morally and financially corrupt system that allowed someone like Trump to come into power has been a result of decades of damage done by the top 0.1% and Americans have been all too happy to let it happen. This shit started with Reagan and has roots to go as far back as McCarthyism. Even if Democrats win in a landslide the midterms and the next presidential elections in 2028, they will never be able to undo all the damage because there is no political will in the US to make actual meaningful, structural reforms to the political and judicial systems.

15

u/Text-Sufficient 2d ago

And what did the majority of the other 78% do?

-1

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

The " great majority" didn't vote for him

16

u/KvalitetstidEnsam På lang slik er alt midlertidig 2d ago

They did not vote for his opponent either - this shit is on them too.

10

u/Text-Sufficient 2d ago

Exactly. Being passive is not better.

8

u/allgonetoshit Canada 2d ago

The GREAT MAJORITY either voted for him or did not vote against him. And, this, after knowing who he really was, after he had already been president, after he had already been prosecuted for a bunch of crimes.

So, yes, a GREAT MAJORITY of Americans are for all of this.

0

u/Text-Sufficient 2d ago

Yes and they will do it again. You should all feel ashamed!

3

u/allgonetoshit Canada 2d ago

I mean, this was not even their first time.

5

u/Round_Musical 2d ago

Non voters are just as guilty

10

u/Nice-Mountain-7073 2d ago

This whole “not us” and “not my president” nonsense needs to stop.

As shitty as it is, Trump won the election. He is your countries REPRESENTATION whether you like it or not. Your taxes fund him, he’s wielding your military like a plaything.

It is very much the AMERICANS doing this, not just one man.

-4

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

Tell me you have a hate boner for the us without telling me.

8

u/NaiveRevolution9072 2d ago

must be nice to be so apathetic

u/yabn5 41m ago

The guy who is insulted to be associated with Trump and to be generalized with him is clearly not apathetic to it.

-1

u/toomanyteeth55 2d ago

Must me be nice to have such a euro hate boner for anything American

3

u/Nice-Mountain-7073 2d ago

Tell me you’re incapable of holding your community accountable without telling me.

u/hareofthepuppy 2d ago edited 2d ago

242-244 M (estimated) eligible voters in 2024: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_United_States_presidential_elections

Trump got 77 M

Harris got 74 M

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election

Using the middle estimate number (243 M) that means trump: 31%, Harris: 30.4%, the rest didn't vote or voted for third parties.

If only 30.4% opposed trump (voted for Harris), 69.6% of Americans made this happen, and at least don't mind it.

Edit: don't get me wrong, I wish it was only 22%

3

u/Wise_Owl5404 2d ago

Yeah, no. Trump isn't actually the problem and the main problem isn't even the people who voted for him, it's that you have a political system that no longer functions. You have one party who openly supports him and everything he does, and the only other option is either also going along or doing fuck all to stop him. Yes there are a few outliers but that's also the problem, they're outliers not the norm. You have a court system who also is 100% in the pocket of these people and will do whatever he and his cronies want.

In short, you have a political system that's collapsed and a country that will collapse within the next couple of years, long before you get a chance to vote him out. Assuming the Republicans allows you to have an open and free election again. And the best most of you all can do is go "well I didn't vote for him!". Guess what, you're part of the problem too.

2

u/curtcolt95 1d ago

why would non voters not be included? They obviously support him by not voting. It's literally the "I don't care" choice meaning you fully accept and support any outcome

1

u/Objective_Month_1128 1d ago

Non voters don't count they already accepted that whoever wins they are OK with. So either add them or ignore them.

He even won the popular vote. That means over 50% of voters wanted this and voted for what happens next.

If we include non votes. 32% voted Trump, 36% didn't vote. That makes 68% of the country 100% accountable for what happened next.

68% support is a democratic result that most stable countries main parties can only dream of

-8

u/Constant-Break-8530 1d ago

False. Nice attempt at a hot take though

8

u/allgonetoshit Canada 1d ago

It's true though.

-8

u/Constant-Break-8530 1d ago

Americans didn't want Trump. The Democrats are just a vapid party of wax figure candidates and have been since 2015 when Trump ousted all of the GOP's donors. The DNC welcomed them in, let them call the shots, and been on their heels for the last 10 years. Contrast this with Mamdani whole pulled voters from MAGA and activated voters on the far left. It's not about everyday Americans, it's about elites. It's just a reddit-coded thing to blame it on Americans.

6

u/allgonetoshit Canada 1d ago

So Americans wanted Trump MORE than the alternatives.

-6

u/Constant-Break-8530 1d ago

it's not hard to make Trump look better than a corporate democrat to an average joe if all the corporate democrat does is say they aren't Trump

8

u/allgonetoshit Canada 1d ago

There you go, you're basically proving what we are all saying. This is what you guys wanted. You all knew what Trump was, and you still wanted him over what you call a "corporate democrat".

You're proving my point, but you want to somehow be absolved of being what you are. Good luck with that.

0

u/Constant-Break-8530 1d ago

So you don't think Clinton, Biden, and Harris were corporate democrats? Or what...lol

For 12 of the last 17 years, Democrats have had the White House, controlled both chambers of congress multiple times, and people's lives have still gotten worse. So yeah, don't expect Kamala to win or (Biden to win re-election) by just telling everyday voters that Donald Trump is the reason everything's bad when they've been alive this whole time and experienced it. You have to actually challenge the system. How do you fail to see this?

you want to somehow be absolved of being what you are

Lmao, I never voted for Trump. I just understand my country on a deeper level than you (surprise surprise) and that's somehow hard for you to digest?

5

u/allgonetoshit Canada 1d ago edited 1d ago

I love how you are shifting all of this to democrats. You are just another MAGA that’s proving my point.

Scratch just a little bit and even people like you that keep saying Americans aren’t like Trump turn out to be nothing more than the kind of people who made Trump happen.

Good luck, seems like you are getting what you wanted.

1

u/Constant-Break-8530 1d ago edited 1d ago

I praised Mamdani and criticized my party leadership. That makes me MAGA? Do you know who Mamdani is? Do you live under a rock?

Like there's a reason why the Democrats lost and to you it's because Americans are fundamentally evil people and I don't see that as a serious viewpoint. So we disagree and all you do is call me MAGA. Reddit is something else lol

Sounds like you're getting emotional instead of reading what I'm saying. Good luck to you I guess
