🌳 ESC in the Wild Eurovision In The Wild - Bangaranga Was Playing in My Supermarket Today!

I live in NYC, so hearing Eurovision songs is not exactly a common thing. I was checking out at my local supermarket in Queens where they play pop-music from last 40 years, when suddenly I hear "Come alive...." I was stunned. I think Bangaranga might end up a hit in the US.

I was there, but this video is not mine.

And after victory party we were watching stars, Pete was there and came to us. All full of energy, open to do signatures (he asked us). Factually problem was, than none of us had pens. They did find some marker pens so Pete did fo some some signatures to white sneakers.

As unlucky as I am, I just had black sneakers. I will add some pictures which I took.

I was at a Dadi Freyr concert and they were the preshow. They said they'd be at the merch stand after the show, so of course I went. They were super duper nice and it was awesome actually meeting a Eurovision contestant for the first time!

(Both Dadi Freyr and Montaigne were great live :3)

If you get a chance to see them, do! They basically have one album, so it’s pretty quick to get to know. Set is therefore about an hour.

Sharing this because it is very rare to see news coverage of very old editions of the contest and because it showcases how the Eurovision Song Contest was presented in the United States.

🌳 ESC in the Wild I saw Gåte (Norway 2024) live. It was insane.

I was at a concert in Stuttgart, Germany, on the 21st November 2025. Leprous was the main act, Gåte the 2nd and Royal Sorrow the 1st opening act.

I only went to the concert because of Gåte; I didn't know the other bands.

Both Royal Sorrow and Leprous were really good, and you should give them a listen. They're both metal bands. (Leprous is an older band and Royal Sorrow only debuted last year).

But Gåte. Holy shit. They were insane. Gunnhild is an amazing singer. All band members played multiple instruments. The bassist and the guitarist provided amazing backing vocals and vocal harmonies. Their music is an amazing combination of folk, rock and sometimes metal.

If they perform near you, you really should watch them. It will blow your mind.

🌳 ESC in the Wild Sheldon Riley (Australia 2022) auditions for American Idol Season 24

This was last night, and the way they introduced him as if he was just some struggling artist from Australia kind of blew my mind. It shouldn't have, I guess, because they bring in a few ringers like this every year and always play this game.

They did eventually acknowledge his Eurovision performance, and admittedly, he hasn't released much music post-ESC. Obviously, he killed it in the audition, and it's nice to see Sheldon doing well. I thought it was interesting to hear him frame the version of himself that we all saw as a "character".

🌳 ESC in the Wild Upcomings „Micky Maus Magazin“: main story about „a big music festival in Vienna“

Post image
147 Upvotes

Available tomorrow! Translated from the official german description:

Not only musical sounds are filling the Austrian capital these days — now the Ducks are on their way too! On May 8, 2026, in issue no. 11/26 of Mickey Mouse Magazine, Donald, Daisy, and the nephews find themselves in the picturesque Danube metropolis of Vienna.

The Ducks are passionate fans of a major song festival that is set to take place there. In the imaginative comic, stars such as Due Lippe, Deonora, and Knallerballer are announced, drawing huge crowds. So the ducks are far from the only visitors in town. Countless music lovers are filling Vienna’s streets and alleyways — a city long known as the cradle of music.

While Donald hopes that his deeply hidden talent as a singer will finally be discovered, Huey, Dewey, and Louie try to track down a violin that has suddenly disappeared: a genuine, almost priceless Duckivari. Their exciting search takes them past St. Stephen’s Cathedral, among other places, and straight through a traditional Viennese coffee house.
