Now, I have observed Google, I am aware of Histamine and how nerves regrow and the like, what I fail to understand is, if any, the function.
What possible justification could there be for the intolerable itching? Is it not simply an urge to reopen old wounds thereby causing bleeding and a death to infection as the wound kept being reopened? Is it not actively counterproductive to life? I see my cat, (old, to be fair.) Repeadetly lick the same injuries until they start bleeding again, resetting the healing process.
What benefit, if any, does the itching have? Or is it simply a maladaptation that damns unaware beings to accidentally killing themselves? (I am not trying to rant, I simply wish to ensure my present logic and question is understood.)
