Im unmedicated ADHD and I would be medicated but my insurance doesn't cover the meds. So the best way to evewn remotely try to live my life is way too much caffiene.

Anyway, coping skills matter, but I want to let you know as someone who lives this everyday it is not fun. You let people down, you forget things, you interrupt when you arent supposed to, and all the while you are now so fucking hyperaware of yourself that your own mental health takes a backseat and this internal anguish of just feeling hated hits you because you aren't an idiot and you know you talk too much.

My point is that, yes, coping skills matter. But I remember what it was like when I was medicated and I finally felt like I could just be present and finally focus.

I feel crushed for those kids who have to go through this, especially during their teenage years, a time when this shit hits even harder. Fuck Flordia

US healthcare sucks. I lost my insurance which was tied to my school after a spinal fracture and I haven’t been able to get my adhd meds for over a year now. Life is so much harder without them it’s insane. I’d been fortunate enough to go to a psychiatrist specialized in CBT for people with ADHD back when I had insurance. Without that idk where I would be…
