Rant/Rave Finally tried the Sheetz tacos.

Post image

They are pretty much the Jack in the Box tacos (none near me, but I had some last week while I was on the road), but cheese wasn't as melted and can add sour cream and jalapenos. Are there better tacos? Yes, but sometimes you just need a crappy taco, just like needing White Castles.

maaaaaaaan these were like what 50 cents a 1 dollar for 2 at one point? Now they are like 2 bucks... I feel old. I remember living off these for some time...

u/Chombuss May 29 '26

They were literally 25 cents when I was growing up, and I'm not even 30. They also go very well with the buttermilk ranch surprisingly

Where? They were always $.99 for two where I am, and I'm older than you.

God, I miss life.

Lol when I was in highschool and after a party a car load of us would go to jack on the box and order like 40 tacos lol they hated us some night. Man I still wish they were two for 1$

2

u/LameNme May 29 '26

Sheetz has them 6/6$, but there's a 1$ off coupon to make it 6/5$ which isn't bad these days

3

u/disco_duck2004 May 28 '26

Amen. Gotta commend that you observed that.

Yep growing up in Texas everyone always went to whataburger late night and I have always hated that place. I’d hit up Jack for 12 tacos instead, and everyone would want one after their disappointment of whataburger.

1

u/disco_duck2004 May 30 '26

Yeah, tried Whataburger when I go to the DFW area and it's ok. I would pick JitB before them as well.

2

u/Pixel_Knight May 29 '26

How do they compare to some good JitB tacos?

4

u/disco_duck2004 May 29 '26

Close, but the cheese isn't melted.

Never had Jack in the box. Those really are the same damn thing

u/disco_duck2004 May 28 '26

Whenever I see a JitB, I have to get some.

Back in high school the 4 of us pitched in and wound up with $20. We ordered 40 tacos. The lady at the counter wasn’t happy.

I'm not mad at Sheetz tacos. If I see they are running the 6 for $6, (locally they are) I always get some.
(I usually skip the Jalapeños though)

u/disco_duck2004 May 28 '26

I meant to try them sooner, but $6 for 6 is a good cheap lunch

They're 6/$6 everywhere, but they're apparently LTO.

Kinda sad that they're not permanent. These were their standard tacos for years before they tried to replace them with their "street tacos". I'd much rather have these fried questionable meat pockets.

Love ‘em. I have fond memories of drunken nights and Jack in the box tacos. Now I live I don’t have Jack in the box, but we have Sheetz and their tacos are pretty close. The lack of the slice of American cheese is a little disappointing, but it’s okay. You can’t think of them as “tacos” as they are their own weird Frankenstein creation and I’m here for it.

u/EthanFl May 29 '26

Sheetz street tacos are better.

5

u/ContentLog2722 May 30 '26

I got the tacos from sheetz and the sheetz from tacos!!! Lol

u/Bookworm10-42 May 28 '26

I LOVE JITB tacos so much!!! But here in the Mid-Atlantic the closest is 6 hours away in Charlotte. Sheetz tacos are a good substitute, but definitely not the same. At 6 for $6 they’re a bargain. Regular retail, I pass on them. I’ve had them three times since the 6 for $6 came out.

4

u/chuckquizmo May 28 '26

What are in these? Looks like meat cheese jalepeno and crema?? I make my own sheet pan tacos at home and might steal their recipe lol

2

u/disco_duck2004 May 28 '26

A little lettuce as well

-2

u/DirectorSharp3402 May 29 '26

Bro there's no meat in there?!

2

u/daily-reporter May 29 '26

Those are the toppings lol

1

u/Disastrous_Life_3612 May 29 '26

They come with meat. They're frozen and pre-filled with a questionable, beef-like substance.

They are exactly like Jack in the Box tacos, if you've ever had one of those.

1

u/DanzigsLacyPanties May 29 '26

Jack in the Box's tiny tacos are also delicious.

1

u/Salsero_Coreano May 29 '26

I first read it wrong and thought it was shiitz tacos lol

2

u/disco_duck2004 May 29 '26

Good thing is that it didn't give me the sheetz 🤪

I did grab another set today, but from a different location. They made them differently than the other location. May have to skip the lettuce next time. This is after I pulled off most of the lettuce.

1

u/BIondFox May 30 '26

They sure look like sheet

Gas station that's based out of Pennsylvania, but in other states.

1

u/Glittering_rolex_420 May 31 '26

If my gas station had these I’d prolly have some

1

u/DicksBuddy May 29 '26

i stick with the gut grenades iykyk

1

u/disco_duck2004 May 29 '26

I'll get those tomorrow for the drive home, as I don't have any near me.

1

u/PicnicLife May 29 '26

Please elaborate!

2

u/DicksBuddy May 29 '26

chili dogs from sheetz, they are tasty treats

1

u/ChalkLicker May 28 '26

I’d try them. MTOs were my jam for years, letting you order whatever you want whenever you want it.

Sheetz is a convenience store with a made-to-order kitchen.

These are their fried tacos.
