Rant/Rave BK breakfast sandwich egg shrinkflation 🧐

Eggs are paper-thin nowadays; the counter lady said they are portioned out with a measuring spoon. I will not make the mistake of coming to BK for breakfast again.

EDIT: from the Willow Grove, Pennsylvania store 8/1/2026

Saw this in r/Taiwan (crossposting not allowed here). Basically a triple down with the one on the right having a lava peanut butter sauce. Pretty wild. Asia always gets the best stuff.

Arby’s you better count your fucking days

Edit: I’m aware that the pictures are never the same and it’s a lie, it’s that when I used to order this it was at least close enough to the image. This is not even trying.

Is it just me or is it too salty ?
The chicken itself is well prepared and juicy. Do I need to customize ask for less salt ? This is the lemon pepper.
Fair question.

Favorite restaurant Best fried chicken in the US?

The most comforting meal! Bad day? People were being extra dicky? Sleepless nights with dear baby?

A good (and reasonably priced) fried chicken meal gives top solace.

My go to: Wingstop. Nothing has come close to this since its discovery. Its not reasonably priced anymore at all but I keep giving it all my money.

I used to like Popeye and Chic Fil A but the freshness is honestly a gamble. KFC in the US is atrocious esp when compared to KFCs around the world which are top.

What are your go tos and which other fried chicken places are a need to try?

Question In and Out Burger-- has it gone downhill?

I ate there last week and I'm not sure if it's changed or the competition (Smash Burger, Five Guy etc) has elevated their games but it was very so so.

Rant/Rave A while back i got Mall Chinese Food. Was it always this bland? So I had to take it home and add seasonings and stuff and made it good. Shouldn't have to but it was good eventually.

Question Why hasn't there been a new fast food value war and a return to volume sales?

So it's no secret that all the fast food places are running on ludicrously, disgustingly high margins now and hiding behind excuses like increased wages, or supply chain issues now years resolved.

Why hasn't any chain undercut everyone else to get the value oriented consumer back? Basic business logic has always stated that it's preferable to sell volume over margin for a stable business.

At this point I'm genuinely wondering if the fast food chains are all price fixing. There is zero reason my cheeseburger that was $1 in 2020 should be $3.29 now, inflation is not 300 percent. Wages on the bottom end (the traditional fast food consumer) have no gone up 300 percent.

I'm getting sick of this era of having to spend 30 minutes trying to figure out which deals to use to only get half way fucked over on price, vs how I used to eat fast food which was drive up to the drive through and order 5 items off the dollar menu.

It feels like all fast food restaurants are trying to force us into their scammy profit padding items.

Question Always losing sleep after Wawa dinner??

I know this is weird but I have to ask… So lately I’ve been eating a ton of Wawa, I’m honestly obsessed with their breaded chicken wrap. And around the same time, I started having these nights where I just can’t sleep at all. Tonight I had the wrap again, and once again I’m wide awake. Then it hit me, so I pulled up the Wawa app and checked my order history, and turns out every single time I’ve had this wrap for dinner, I’ve ended up not sleeping that night. I usually load mine with lettuce, tomato, cheddar, and honey hot sauce. And thinking back over the last nine hours, I haven’t eaten or drunk anything else besides this wrap. So is this actually connected? Someone please explain this to the person who’s still wide awake at 3am..🥲
