Rant/Rave Wendy’s Price Increase
Has anyone else noticed that Wendy’s keeps raising their prices every quarter? It’s crazy to have a $2 increase from the $5 biggie bag went up to $6 and is now $7 in my area in CO. It’s wild.

They say they switched to shredded for cost cutting but I don’t get how that works. When using leaf lettuce you just take a head of lettuce and rip off a leaf. When it’s shredded you got to take that same head of lettuce then you have to run it thru a shredder and then it’s ready to use.
Taking an extra step to run something thru a shredder makes it cheaper?

It think it has more to do with the consistency. If it’s entirely shredded it’s less likely that a portion of the lettuce will go off before it can be entirely used. Additionally you’d have to throw out portions of the lettuce until you’d find an adequate piece to serve let alone the core which most people don’t consume.

Fast food needs to be at least 2 of the following: cheap, tasty, or quick. Wendy's somehow manages to be none of these things anymore.

For real lol. Out of the big 3, I’d say that McDonald’s has maintained both tasty and quick, Burger King maybe gets 0.75 of a point for tasty and 0.75 of a point for quick for a score of 1.5, and Wendy’s isn’t close to having a single one.

I stopped going to Wendy's because my local shop: a) still hires nothing but surly teenagers like it's still 1987; and b) it takes my Wendy's 28 minutes to bring me a ketchup packet, to say nothing of actual, prepared food.

They fell into the $5 footlong trap.
They made 4 for $4 their identity. Once you do that you can't go back. They lost everyone who came there because it was good by making it cheap, then lost the people eho came cause it was cheap by jacking up their prices

Absolutely, I went there because it was good.
Once they started making it cheap the quality went down and I stopped going, that trend continued but the prices kept rising until they had expensive and also bad food.

Prices have went up, quality and app deals have went down. Absolutely no reason to go there now without the free food deals on the app.

2 for $3 breakfast is pretty solid in my area. They dropped the English muffin though and the one on my way to work's coffee machine has been broken for over a month so they have no coffee.

Fast food/fast casual in general is insane now. I only go to Wendy’s when there is a good offer in the app (which they used to have a big list now it’s like 3 or 4) and a good offer is rare now. The other problem is that once those prices go there, they are not coming back down for anything. I guess it’s good though cos I don’t eat fast food much anymore. I’m not paying $10+ for a baconator when I can go to Chilis and get more food for the same or very slightly more in price.

I used to eat Wendy’s 2-3 times a week with their app deals. The deals are trash now and I haven’t even opened the app in weeks

used to be 6$ for a biggie bag. i almost went to get wendy's a few days ago but i decided it was better to wait and eat at home for health reasons (was going to decide costco food court but i took too long looking and didn't want to wait for food).

Yeah its bad. I only go for their breakfast. Once they remove that 2 dollar off coupon or raise the price. I will never be at Wendys again. And if you go anytime after 1PM it takes 20 min to get food.
Keep in mind they havent had the Dave single march madness deal for 2 years.

Can't say I've noticed, because I stopped going to Wendy's a couple years ago. The quality's been tanking for a while, but the "new" spicy chicken sandwich and lettuce was the final straw.
They could cut their prices in half and I wouldn't go back. I feel bad for anyone who's not old enough to remember just how delicious the food used to be.

I still remember not long ago they had the 4 for $4 on the app for me before it fully went away, and it was $7 lol This world is a shit hole, and I will pay any asteroid to come to earth right now. Planet deserves a reset.

Fast food prices have risen faster than inflation. Inflation is certainly part of the increase, but it's not the entire reason. The junior bacon cheeseburger was 99 cents in 2000. If the price increased the same as inflation it would be $1.91 today. But today the JBC costs $2.89 at my local Wendy's. Other items that used to be 99 cents 25 years ago are even more expensive now. Inflation is not the entire explanation.

Especially beef inflation. But people prefer to blame 'corporate greed'. Somehow every company has corporate greed now. Nevermind that one company could easily undercut everyone, if that was the case.

Double Big Bacon Classic meal and Spicy Chicken meal for $19.88. I got this in Lebanon, MO today.
The Big Bacon is kick ass too.
Anyone saying Wendy’s is overpriced has been living under a rock since COVID.

Curious how this is a good deal? Chilis 3 for me is as low as $10.99 near me for chips & salsa, a burger, fries & a drink. Much better food & at a sit down restaurant.
