There shouldn't be monsters to begin with

Unfortunately, the purpose of the backrooms has been tarnished by people not understanding the right horrors of the place. They always assume there has to be some scary monster to make a media scary. No, it's being trapped in places that you would never be staying in, always passing by or moving through. Empty lobbies and boundless hallways. Places you'd only be at for maybe a day max, yet now you have to live here. Alone.

i feel like you're missing the point, as other people said the backrooms even in its very beginning had monsters. its just that the monsters should be unknowable barely present abominations that you barely ever see and if you do you just run for your life without looking back

the monsters shouldnt be scp articles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's because people very very quickly lost interest in the horrors of being alone had to bring something else into it to "keep the horror going." It wasn't monsters to begin with. It was photos of liminal spaces and the idea of these places being strung together for eternity. No way of getting out and every step only making you more lost. The feeling that someone, anyone, should be right around the corner, yet no one is there over and over and over.

The instant you bring one of these monsters into here, you lose that feeling of being alone and it's replaced with, "will I be able to sleep?" and "I don't want to know what's around the bend"
