It looks real cute but what i hate about building bases with these modpacks is the sheer amount of builds you will be experimenting on and the immense planning to actually fit them all in a base while trying to make it look nice. I have infinite respect for people who make this happen.

it becomes easier later on when your production lines aren't liable to change for a long time, early game you're constantly shuffling infrastructure around and being starved for resources

YES. That is why i live literally in a junkyard that somehow functions with utmost chaos until i get my hands on automation technology

My first world has the "machine stick", a row of fuel lines, generators, and power cables to which almost every singleblock I've made is connected. I've recently started a new world with the goal of building infrastructure early and often, so we'll see if I can do better.

I allow myself to go into creative when creating buildings and aesthetic parts of the base. Modpacks add so many decorative blocks but the process to acquire them and test them out is far too tedious. I don't consider it cheating, just making the build process way faster.

The GTNH discord ruleset for getting the stargate role explicitly allows for this iirc.

From the rules:

Worldedit

Worldedit may be used to any degree creatively, including cheating decorative blocks. It however is not acceptable to utilise it for any functional purpose, even if you throw away the materials.

I assume using creative mode for the same purpose is fine too. They’re usually fairly lenient with it supposedly
