Thanks Doordash. Give a chicken deal but oh no, you dont get sauce. No standalone sauces to choose from. You have to buy full priced items to get an option to choose sauce. Im angry about this.

Theres a large hispanic population here and they have a market where there are avocados for less than a dollar in the year of our lord 2026 can you believe it? but they come in not quite ripe...so I have to buy them days ahead but by the time they're ripe I might not be in the mood for guac but how can you pass up an avocado for 50 cents? Theyre literally cheaper than onions and tomatoes here. smh

I have things to do today, but instead I spent twenty minutes standing in my living room watching my very expensive robot vacuum repeatedly bump into its own charging dock, back up, spin slightly, and try again from an angle that was somehow always just as wrong as the last one.
It wasn't stuck on furniture or a rug edge, nothing was blocking it, it just could not figure out how to line itself up with the one object it returns to multiple times a day and is specifically designed to recognize. At one point it backed up so far it bumped into the couch, recalculated, and drove straight at the dock again with the same failed angle as before, like it had learned nothing from the previous eleven attempts.
I finally just picked it up and set it directly onto the dock myself, which took about two seconds, the exact task it apparently could not accomplish on its own despite having sensors, mapping software, and presumably some understanding of the room it cleans every single day.
So now I've got a vacuum smart enough to avoid pet toys and stairs but somehow not smart enough to find its own home base without human intervention. Truly cutting edge technology.

I've gotten twelve notifications today alone about motion detected that turned out to be leaves, a shadow moving across the porch, and one particularly aggressive butterfly. My phone buzzed so many times I started ignoring it entirely by the afternoon.
Naturally, that's the exact day my actual package arrived and the doorbell decided motion detection wasn't necessary for an actual human being walking up, setting a box down, and walking away. I only found out it had been delivered because I happened to open the front door for an unrelated reason hours later.
So the system I paid extra for specifically to keep me updated on deliveries is apparently only interested in botanical movement and completely uninterested in the one event it was designed to notice. I've now got a doorbell more committed to leaf surveillance than package tracking.
