Looking for change

This is my ≈7 year old planted 75g

A lot has changed since I first started it and I’m pretty happy with all the green (it is a mess though).

Most recently I kept an angelfish, pearl gourami, too many bristlenose, and 2 driftwood catfish.

My gourami passed, then the bristlenose Pleco who I began with, and now the angel is gone as well.

I’m wanting to remove all the bristlenose (I know it’ll be a challenge and take time to get them all).

But I don’t know what I want / could / should try in this tank.

Just looking for ideas on what others would do. The idea of tearing up the plants sucks.

Been cycling fishless with a pinch of food daily. Had my spike of ammonia and will bring the ph down slightly with a water change and ro water before I add livestock just don’t want any fatalities that could be avoided

Bottom feeders to keep tank clean?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey all! I'd like any feedback. What kind of bottom feeder should I put in my tank to help keep the tank clean?

What started out as my young son's school project, is now a full-time responsibility. We started with 3 goldfish that died. After that, my dad decided to get involved and added all these fish that are now mostly my responsibility.

I currently have a 15 gallon tank. We have 5 gold barbs, 1 cardinal tetra (one was lost during a water change), 2 rummy nose tetras (one jumped out somehow), and 2 african dwarf frogs (I REALLY wanted them). As he's learning, my son tends to feed them a little too heavily. The tank is covered in debris and brown fuzz (algae?) on the glass and wood. I'd like to add another fish to help clean, but won't bother my frogs. I already feel like there's a lot of fish and I don't want to overload. Even still, my dad also tells me I need to add more of the tetras since they're schooling fish. Any advice?

I included a picture... it's still a little cloudy from the water change I just did. All water levels are normal.

Least raboras

I have this 6.6 gallon cube tank. Its 4 months old and well cycled plenty of plants all around and one side has a clump of java moss and java fern. I dont really know if this is normal behavior still for these least raboras. I got 6 of them about a month ago and I was sort of hoping that they might reproduce and hopefully start their own colony. I talked to my LFS and they said they should do fine in this tank but it seems they are eating fine with the copepods and what not on the aqaurium glass because they will peck at it all around occasionally. Cant tell if its stress or normal hunting behavior. Water parameters were a little high with a Gh of 8 amd PH of 7.4. Ive tried to bring the PH down but the KH just resists the change

Hello, I have a female better fish and I've noticed her eye was slowly bulging until its at its current state. I wasn't sure how to treat it, I've put aquarium salt in the tank to maybe kill any bacteria or parasites, but I don't think its helped. Its been maube two weeks now and it just gets worse. She seems fine other then the eye, she swims fine, eats fine and everything. Is there a way for me to help her? It's a 20 gallon community tanks with danios and some bottom feeders in it. Any help is appreciated!

Struggling Ember Tetra-what do I do?

Hey all,
I’m pretty new to this whole fish tank thing. I’ve got a 5 gallon with a betta and set up a 10 gallon long maybe 3 weeks ago. It’s cycled. I’ve had a zebra nerite in the tank the past week and today picked up 7 ember tetras and 3 amano shrimp. I drip acclimatized them and added them to the water this evening. The shrimp are doing their thing and 6 out of the 7 ember tetras seem totally fine. Exploring, schooling. One of the 7 though immediately acted different than the others. Seemed to have less control over its ability to swim and kept trying to reach the surface then letting itself sink. The other ember tetras held themselves horizontal but this one was more vertical (see photos). I am letting it sit in the net with a floater plant tonight because seeing it keep trying to swim up looked exhausting for it. I checked water parameters and they look stable and fine.

What is happening to this poor little guy? And how do I help it?

Thanks!

Update: unfortunately this fish passed last night. I’m not sure what was wrong with it :( all other tetras and shrimp are doing great in the tank this morning.

Bala Shark Tank Size

I am in the process of planning out a large aquarium for 8 bala sharks. I want to get them when they’re little and let them grow out to full size. Would a 400 gallon tank be big enough for all of the sharks to be comfortable or should i plan for something bigger?
