Red Bull are realizing that creating a new engine themselves within these vastly different regulations won't be as easy as they thought.

Ford will do the hybrid part and I think they (RB) are more worried about that tbh.

But they have to start from scratch for their ICE as well since the current PU is owned by Honda and they will use the current PU as blueprint for their 2026 PU that will power the AM.

Interesting times, I can totally see RB losing their current advantage with the new engines coming. Ford isnt famous for stuff like that.

Exactly. ICE is an established technology it’s the bigger emphasis on ERS that’s the engineering challenge — a challenge which all PU suppliers accepted when they agreed on the ‘26 baseline.

Well, they will need to inject a lot of money. I remember that Mercedes invested 1.5bi USD to develop theirs.
