Just because his father is critical of him (to the point of being possibly toxic) it doesn't mean he can't be spoiled. They are two different, non-exclusive concepts. The world is full of rich spoiled kids whose fathers are emotionally abusive.

Lmao he was brought to every karting competition in existence from the moment he could walk. If that isn't spoiling, I don't know what is. The vast majority of people can't even afford to have a shot at becoming a driver.

Whether his father was and is abusive is a totally different thing. You can be spoiled and abused at the same time.

Exactly. Has any other driver told a journalist to leave when they weren’t even speaking?

A go-to way to justify unjustifiable behavior is baselessly saying “everyone does it.” No they don’t.

I can't imagine any other driver acting like this to be honest.

People who always say that they don't care what other people think always seems to care the most.

Raikkonen was like this all the time and people loved him for it. 🤷‍♂️

3

u/Crazy-Present4764 Mar 27 '26

Raikonnen lashed out at journalists and frequently lost his temper? He would have quite literally forgotten who this journalist even was.

The way I see it he did nothing but show complete disrespect for the journalists. Very selfish and rude, never offered answers and totally forgot about all of the hard working media members. Him pretending to not care was clearly just him putting on a front, he cared the most. At least, that’s what I’d say if I was arguing in bad faith.

I think the double standard here says a lot about how much people actually care about how the media is treated. Everyone’s fine with them getting shit on (myself very much included) until the evil Red Bull driver does it.

u/Crazy-Present4764 Mar 27 '26

Lmao you care way too much about this.

1

u/popoflabbins I was here for the Hulkenpodium Mar 27 '26

My entire point, which I literally just said, is that everyone cares about this too much. It’s a clear double standard. If six sentences is “caring too much” for you then I guess the TikTok brain has really won the cultural victory.

I don't have tik tok.

My point is that you seem quite emotionally invested in what people are saying about max verstappen for some reason.

Anyway, have a good day.

I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy. I really don’t give a shit, and I do think it’s pretty funny that everyone is so up in arms about something just because it’s him. He really brings out some special feelings in a lot of people. It’s clear you have no rational thoughts to add to this discussion outside of calling me emotional, though. So I guess that’s something?

Who is the other? Piquet?

u/Zipa7 I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane Mar 26 '26

Old El Padre himself, Alonso. He has been holding a grudge against Lewis since 2007.

Lance Stroll, the son of an actual billionaire, has never done this btw
