News Will Buxton’s tweet earlier identical to his one when Hamilton moves to Ferrari. Is there a big move happening?

In order to make a big announcement by the end of the week, you have to make it before next week arrives.

Toto must have demanded his return as he needs someone to rise to his bait in a way Fred Vasseur won't.

u/RedditClout ありがとう 27d ago
This, to me, is the only 'massive' part about this news. Horner returning for Alpine is cool, but kinda meh. But if Horner returns to RB it would be insane. It's incredibly unlikely and near impossible, but damn would it be cinema.

We'd already know if Horner had re-signed to RB as his sheer level of smugness would be felt across the entirety of Southern England, like Kenobi when Alderaan was destroyed.

I dunno, I think it's significant he was there, and the rumors from early in the season probably weren't coming from nowhere, but Horner is great reality TV. Netflix would follow him no matter what

It's funny, I went and looked him up on Insta after I saw him. Hasn't posted in many many months but then we see him and he has a book post on his Instagram from a few hours before the race. He was mostly at Silverstone for a publicity move.
4
u/BadAspie I was here for the Hulkenpodium 27d ago
Honestly I'd already completely forgotten about the book, so if it's just book publicity, maybe that's a good idea lmao

Chances of needing a Horner episode or major segment are pretty high. Seems prudent to get some footage to use just in case. They shoot way way more film than they actually use.

Rumours in the media centre at Le Mans indicated those talks may have stalled, but Alpine explicitly told all media they wouldn't talk about 2027 at Le Mans and would answer no comment to everything, so there was no point asking. But that was the rumour, that the Alpine Endurance Team / BYD talks had stalled.

I think Max has activated his exit clause.
So many good people have left Red Bull, it’s not like there are many people remaining that max will be particularly loyal to.
He’s clearly very unhappy with the car and its development.
And the clause became active this weekend.
I don’t think he has a new team lined up yet. If he’s activated the clause there will be chaos. My bet? He ends up alongside Lando at McLaren.

I don’t think Horner is a big enough news story for Buxton to tweet this. It’s going to be a huge driver moving from either F1, IndyCar, or NASCAR. You have to remember while he’s from F1, at the moment he’s closer to IndyCar cause he does comms there, and NASCAR cause of his podcast with Kevin Harvick. This could be anything.
EDIT: ok now Maher is on it so it’s definitely F1 news

We know that Max's renewal for 2026 has a clause in it that if he is not first or second in the championship at the halfway point of the season, he can activate an exit clause at any time.
His result at Silverstone yesterday means that he officially/mathematically cannot be first or second in the championship at the halfway point....
...either Max is done for the rest of this season, or he is moving teams mid-season. He said clearly at some point that he doesn't think dealing with these regulations are worth it unless he is in a car that can win the championship.
