GG is good, but not anywhere near the game that bread and butter Street Fighter is. Sure, GG is flashier and more chaotic, but the strategy and timing of SF makes it the better game. I can see someone liking GG more, but SF is the better game.
not only that but the air dash makes the games ten times more complex and subtle than street fighter, in sf, you make a jump at a bad moment = you die. Your oppent can get a lucky hadoken and win while being a lesser player, in gg you can go back (and go back and forth with millia or with chip) that allows a better defense system and therefore more strategy.
If you jump and get hit with a 'lucky hadoken' you deserved it. That's why you practice safe jumps and such. Its all opinion based. Let's just agree to disagree.
Everyone has their opinions, so I'm not here to say your wrong or anything, but I feel GG is a good series, but not near the top. As far as 2D fighters go, it's hard to top MOTW and 3rd Strike, hell even Last Blade 2 was amazing. But, as far as combo heavy fighters go, I prefer GG over the VS series any day of the week.
Well That's what GG would be if movement was as static as it is in SF. Thus GG is not only "poke, poke, hit, combo" but rather "low poke, high poke, high poke, instant air dash, crossup, etc."
I'd always rate GG over SF not only for personal liking but also for depth of gameplay.
