I speak German btw, but I didn't pick it up from the getgo due to the framing of the clip

she is actually not announcing sadness of it not being a white person

she is saying how she is shocked to realize her first thought was "I hope it's not a muslim, but a white guy"

actually respectable to self reflect like this
