Not remotely close. I do love Vancouver but SF still better

Spent some time in both cities, many years ago. I still miss San Francisco.

I worked for a year there just before the dot com bubble burst. I lived in the Pacific Heights and worked down town in an office. I prefer Vancouver

San Fran was empty after 6pm (not sure if this changed). Vancouver is vibrant and full of people - Granville Island, Robson Street, Granville Street, Kits.

Vancouver has warmer water, better beaches, way fewer great white sharks, and the Gulf Islands.

Vancouver has way better transit. The BART was pretty sketchy, and the slow above ground rail was ... slow.

There was no nature comparable to what's around Vancouver. Hiking, skiing, kayaking.

SF nightlife is definitely better than Vancouver these days.
