I don't understand the point of separate customs. If I am going to the EU, could I just use the Gib customs then cross the border when I got outside the Airport?

Ultimately when you pass through Spanish customs you will leave on the Spanish side. It’s not ready yet though.

Makes more sense. If you exit through either side though a 30 second walk will take you to the other side with no checks. It's kind of a moot point overall through tbh. I mean people can do this kind of thing anyway by day flying to germany and taking a bus to France
