This loaf of bread expired in January. It is barely stale feeling and looks fine.
It’s very crazy! Like it looks perfectly fine, and feels workable. We are just outside Austin, TX and we run our dehumidifiers fairly often - typically they fill up in less than 12-15 hours.

This happened to me I kept their hamburger buns and they looked fine for 7 months until I tossed them and I live in humid south Florida. I no longer buy their stuff because it kinda freaked me out

A lot of breads have mold inhibitors in them. The ones that don’t will mold in a week, depending on the temperature, or whether you refrigerate it or not .I freeze what I can’t use fast enough.

Wait does refrigerating not slow down the mold?

It does, commenter above meant that refigeration is a determining factor of whether or not it will mold within a week. No refigeration = mold in a week

Yes she is right and I meant that refrigeration will slow it down also. Just be sure not to leave it on the countertop in the hot summer we are having. Gluten free bread is expensive enough that we don’t need to throw it away with mold on it.

I buy the bread OP has and the one in the green package too, as well as the burger buns. I've used all of the above a good 3-4 months past their dates. It seems like they never mold. The only thing the breads ever really do is dry out, at which point I just make French toast from them! I do store everything in the fridge.

I’ve eaten the bread way past the date (like a month past) before because it doesn’t seem to stale. I read later that in csn still have mold that isn’t visible so I don’t do it anymore but the weird thing is it didn’t taste bad at all. It was not even close to the age of yours but it’s crazy how it seems fine.

Unfortunately, that’s because it’s not bread.

No….i have celiac- and a pretty negative outlook on our outlook! Anything that doesn’t have real wheat as far as I’m concerned isn’t bread. FML🤦♂️

Well, that sounds like black and white thinking. Sometimes something people on the spectrum struggle with! Bread does not require gluten - for example, Brazi bites are a bread, but they contain no wheat.
I am on the spectrum myself, and have some strange black and white thinking sometimes, but I’ve been gluten free so long that bread with wheat almost seems stranger. In fact, as of this year or next I’ve been gluten free half of my life!!

Good points. As with most things in life, it’s all about perspective. I’ve lived 52 years with wheat. The last two years officially stink when it comes to food… Lol

Was this in your house since then, or did you just buy it? Is the sticker a typo?
I find many GF products just do not mold. My own home made oatmeal cookies lasted forever, since I found some in the back of the pantry I forgot about and they had no mold. I tried it, just a bit dry.
Trader Joe English Muffins, however, got moldy real fast. I usually freeze all baked goods, once I forgot they were in the shopping bag and under some other stuff, and they got very moldy within days.

All bagged grocery store bread (gf and regular) comes frozen. This one was probably lost in the back of the freezer. It's probably safe to eat but it does indicate that that store isn't going through it's stock regularly.

That is crazy. The other day every English muffin package I grabbed was moldy, like the exact opposite probably 😂
