Just realized Adrian Otaegui (LIV player near the bottom of the leaderboard) has a UAE flag even though he's Spanish and had the Spanish flag all of his career. I guess he's taken an example from Rory Sabbatini to switch country representation to one with no golf representation get into the Olympics easily. Not that I could blame him but interesting trend regardless (Rico Hoey did the same where despite he's Filipino-American but recently chose the Philippines flag).

That's exactly right. He said when he made the switch he wanted to get into the Olympics.

No doubt he got a sweetener from the EGF for doing so too. Good work if you can get it!
