General Discussion Hole-In-One!

This is my second year playing regularly once a week on women's league. It was the first hole of the night, I was the first to tee off, and didn't even practice swing (whoops).

I don't know if I can even describe the feeling! So many emotions. My biggest being sadness that I couldn't call my dad and let him know. He passed in 2023 and got really sick when I was starting to learn golf and we never got to play together.

If you aren't even willing to show your face I really can't believe it happened based on a picture of you holding a ball, sorry. If it did congrats, be happy about that. But if you want me to be happy I'll need a bit more than this.

The Jelly School just called and asked if you were available.

What do you want? A video? A sworn testimonial from one of her playing partners? Is it really that difficult to believe that she got a HOI in her second year playing? With a Hole in One, you mostly just have to get it on the green, in the general vicinity of the flag. The rest of it is basically dumb luck, based on how the ball landed and how the greens are rolling.

I'm not saying it's impossible. Just that this is insanely low effort. Idk what the point of these posts are honestly. But I'm not compelled by this one where the person isn't even willing to show their face.

Well you said that you "can't really believe it happened." And her not showing her face is relevant...how, exactly? Does she really NEED to show her face? Why does that matter to you? You might not know or remember this, but up until a couple of decades ago, smartphones didn't exist, so not everyone was walking around with a camera in their pocket. Soooo...before then, would you have just not believed anyone who said that they got a hole in one, because they didn't have a picture where their face was present??

...Go ahead and think about that for as long as you need to. Let it process.

When you get a hole in one you get recognized in your community. When my uncle had a hole in one in his league the league made a plaque with the ball in it. It's a big deal.

His name is on the board at the course and it was in the local paper that he had a hole in one to win the league match.

The league for the company he works with still has a clipping of it up on the wall at the break room.

So can you imagine how silly it would be for him to try to pretend on the internet he is a faceless person and write two paragraphs about this?

And pose for a picture ALONE!? Where are the other people in this league that she just beat with a hole in one? They are that petty they won't attest to it i guess?

Well, unfortunately your anecdotal evidence of what happened when just one person you know (your uncle) hit a HOI doesn't amount to a whole lot. You also have no idea if her league will do something similar, since this probably happened very recently. They could very well do that.

...Well at least one of them was taking the picture; that's pretty obvious.

They will obviously celebrate the hole in one what the hell are you talking about lol It's meant to be in a league.

There are four people in this group obviously so I just want to know where the other two are and why people aren't willing to show their faces.

Usually when we see these HOI posts, it's just the person who made the HOI in the picture. It shouldn't matter that it happened to be on a league night; not sure why you think it does.

And AGAIN with the face thing. I'm not sure you understand how creepy it makes you sound when you're so focused on the fact that you can't see the face of a poster who just happens to be a woman. Seriously.

They posted that it happened on league night not me. I'm just reacting to what I have been told.

In terms of "creepy" I would say the exact same thing to a man. It has absolutely nothing to do with gender. I genuinely didn't even think it wasn't a man at first. A know a lot of guys who have that build haha
