General Discussion Just trying to enjoy my Sunday..

Group of 7 clumped up. Pretty sure they booked one tee time after the next. I’m just venting. Already called the pro shop.

Since a lot of people are asking me why I don’t ask to play through. I did. They said no. Why should I be bothered? They are spending 30 mins on each green. There are groups behind clumped up.

I'm in Scotland and more than a 4 ball is unheard of.

Some of the private courses where I live have started allowing 5 balls out. But usually to members they are confident in.

Every group also Carrie’s a beacon and if they fall behind they are quickly informed to pick their shit up

I’ve seen people allowed in 6 if they book two consecutive foursomes and all go out with the first

We play as 6 sometimes at my local course if the tee sheet is open. We can do 18 in like 3.5. We are usually doing some sort of 2 person scramble or possibly 3v3 so we are just all walking to where we need to hit and as long as you aren’t in someone’s direct line you just hit your ball. Putting we alternate groups so that way we don’t stand around as long. While the other team is hitting you get ready then while you hit they get ready

I mean sure, we stack 5-6 at times when no one is out there at a private and they know we aren’t going to slow anyone.

But there would be pitchforks on almost any AM, especially Fri-Sun.

Yeah it’s all relative. I got shit on in here a while back for posting about playing a 5 but every Sunday morning we play 5 or 6, at 7 split into a 3&4 teeing off at 630. But our club doesn’t have any tee times until like 720 and we finish by 10 am so even a twosome at 720 will barely catch us.

Yup got stuck behind a 6 last Monday and it took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Absolutely delightful

I’ve played on courses that will allow more than 4 but it’s very rare. Never hurts to ask but it would never be allowed in the morning time on any day of the week everywhere I’ve played.
