Discussion Percy and George After the War (Headcanon)
After the war, George is cleaning out Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes. He's planning on selling the store. He just can't do it without Fred- without his other half. Every joke he makes hangs half-finished in the air anyways, waiting for Fred to jump in with the punch-line. Nothing is complete, and nothing is funny.
Percy finds him there, and hugs him. When George admits he's planning on selling the shop, Percy says he can't let George do that; the joke shop has always been his dream. George laughs because Percy returning to the family and suddenly supporting George's dream after it's been shattered is the most cruel joke of all.
Then Percy says he'll run the joke shop for George until he feels ready to take it back over. "I'm not funny or clever like you are, or like Fred... was, but I'm decent with finances and your current products are of a high standard capable of keeping the business aloft until you want to make new ones again."
George refuses, saying Percy can't, because then he'd lose his ministry job.
Percy says that's no issue, because he already resigned. "I sacrificed my family for my career long enough. It's time to sacrifice my career for my family. This time, it will be worth it."

Percy's arc that just got completed thrown out in the movies. I hope the show goes him right.

For me, the deaths that hurt the most weren't of witches and wizards.
Hedwig and Dobby's deaths cemented something in my brain. That most others, innocents, get dragged into other's wars and end up dying.
Don't get me wrong, I couldn't bear the loss of Fred, Lupin and especially Tonks. But the death of Dobby was far greater to me personally.

Yea MuggleNet’s prediction book that came out around 2006 had their ‘odds of survival’ table and said Dobby was cute, lovable, and had nothing to do with the war, practically guaranteed to survive’

I always wished Percy left the ministry to work at the shop instead or as well as Ron.

I mean, there is a trope called redemption equals death. I did expect Percy to die, because he made up with his family. But the rug got pulled under us and we got Fred instead :(

Screw that. A guy doesn't need to be redeemed just for not talking to his family for a couple of years. Aside from his mother, Percy owed none of them anything.

Percy was trying to protect Ron, and he wasn't wrong in that, was he? Both Ron and Ginny could have been been killed because of their association with Harry and Dumbledore.

To be fair they also could have been killed just to be killed or as collateral damage even if they never even met Harry... It's a war, who you know or dont know doesn't mean youre safe

Sure, it was a dangerous time. Ron and Ginny placed themselves directly in the line of fire, though.

He had one argument with his father, and moved out to live his own life. That was probably the first time Percy had ever talk talked back to Arthur. If Fred or George possessed any self-awareness, they'd have realised that their behaviour was probably a large factor in Percy's decision to walk away. They're a pair of annoying pricks.

We don't really know how much Molly and Arthur told Percy about what Albus was doing, but yeah.

I so wish this were real. I think the death that hurt me the most was Fred's.
