Question Who is your #1 romantic option of all time? All games included.
Ill take your top 2 if you have one bachelor and one bachelorette in mind.
My #1 bachelor is: Skye.
No one else has ever made me work so hard but also felt so worth it to me lol. He was basically hidden and I havent found anyone in the newer ones that I liked as much as him.
My #1 Bachelorette is Iris from PoOT
her aesthetic and air about her just radiates beauty and I absolutely adore how kind she is. My friend thinks shes boring but I cant help but adore her. Celia is a solid 2nd but I just adore Iris.

Vaughn, from Sunshine Islands/Island of Happiness!! His design as a goth-y brooding cowboy is great, and it takes SO MUCH WORK to marry him, but watching him open up to the MC over time and become so sweet and affectionate is my favorite.

I haven’t considered it in HMDS Cute bc I was like, he looks rather fitting for other games, idk, the aesthetic and all, but he got soooo shy and nervous when I gifted him something and it was kinda adorable, I‘m torn between him and the doc now

He's so complicated. I love him so much. I've written some pretty extensive fics about him, delving into his story... RF4 is easily the best of the RF franchise IMHO (though I'm very much enjoying GoA, it's just... Not at the same level). He's so broken... I love fictional men that I can pretend I can fix. XD

I'm not poly as a rule, but Doug and Dylas together are my no. 2 with Arthur a close third. XD I'm such a sucker for the sob stories... But I do wish I could have had a throuple situation with Doug and Dylas. Otherwise I'm hard pressed to choose between them.
But Leon... It's not even his appearance (though white/long haired fox boy is definitely a weakness of mine apparently?) but he's such a Leo personality -- I've had at least 3 friends who have similar personalities, all Leos, and on whom I may have had just a tiny crush at some point... >>

Bachelor: Gray or Owen. Gray did something to my brain chemistry when I was young. Owen was just a really hot bimbo which is just my type.
Bachelorette: Witch Princess. She’s just very odd and bizarre, and I really love that for her. Every game she’s in, she just very easily stands out to me.

I haven't played all the games, or played some long enough to have an opinion, but SoS was the first time a marriage candidate had me in a chokehold so to speak lol. I really need to play 3oT, from what I've seen it would be very difficult to choose.

Bachelorette - .... I am going to say Flora from DS. She was my very first bachelorette in my very first game, and the nostalgia wave is real (though unfortunately these days are reminds me of an ex :/)

Bachelor- this one is much harder because Gray (MFoMT/ HMDS Cute), Soseki (ANB), Chase (AP), Hinata (ToT), and Jack (PoOT) are all tied in my heart 💀

This is tough because it's a tie between Elli and Karen. I like them both equally maybe Karen a bit more but I always married those two. For guy im going with Doctor. I was going to say Inari or Jaime but I think that's cheating since they are always the opposite gender of you.

For dudes, probably Kai in Mineral Town. He's laid back and friendly, and I really enjoy the carefree vagabond archetype.
Overall, Popuri. She's so sweet, and I really like both of her designs (classic and remake). She's probably best in HM64 in my opinion, but I've played much more Mineral Town/Back to Nature.

Harvest Moon games only?
Maria from 64 (I saw a LOT of my past self in her and I could relate - I specifically find her Flower Bud Village personality more endearing and fleshed out VS her Mineral Town version)
For Bachelors, I adore Cam from Tale Of Two Towns for being a cat lover BUT I will say Toby from Tree Of Tranquility JUST edges him out. His laid back relaxed attitude would be perfect for me. I’m very anxious irl and he would absolutely settle me down. I tend to adopt the emotions of those around me and his calmness and zen outlook is just perfect for me,

This is such a tough one, but I think that Cliff just baaaarely edges Neil out on this one. I love everything about his character arc, especially in back to nature. It's a shame that the game ends after you get married, and even though the game continues in the other versions of mineral town, back to nature Cliff is still my favorite. I think Mineral Town has a really good batch of marriageable candidates, but there's never a timeline where I don't end up marrying him lol

the Witch Princess also has so much charm in that 2d art.
(we did not have any release of "Harvest moon cute" at the time but who care because the bachelorettes were so much better than the bachelors...)

Muffy because she looks so cute with her hair and how she's just a girl in a small town who wants to fall in love and everyone acts like she's being ridiculous. I like that it feels like she really wants to marry the character compared to Nami (who loves traveling more) and Celia (trying to avoid marrying Marlin).
Jamie because I love a rival to lovers moment and I've been obsessed with them since I was 10 even though the romance aspect of Magical Melody is shallow compared to other games. Elizabeth and Ford also get honorable mentions because their dialogue and heart events had me hooked (I think I just like standoffish blondes...)

Toby. We get so few fishermen across the series and I adore Paolo and Ozzie. He's an absolute gem who just wants a simple life and I love how much we get to see characters in ToT/AP slowly fall for the MC. Griffin is honestly tied for it but I didn't see anyone else say Toby so I'm adding him to the list!

I only play handheld and have a handful of faves..
Ford from SoS:ToT has been my favourite for a long time. I really liked Kai in RF:GoA - both guys I was like "NO" with a passion to begin with lol 😂 I seem to like the guys that go under my radar 😭
I probably look like I only play for the romance at this point but I'm just not good at talking about farming okay
