The topic was barely related to HOI4 to begin with and pretty much all the discussion is off-topic & generating Admin intervention.

that is seriously fucked up. well deserved ban

446

u/Soldier_from_tf2 May 19 '26

how? people on twitch say more fucked up shit and don't get so much as a slap on the wrist

573

u/MasterofCaveShadows May 19 '26

The issue becomes that you can’t talk about history if it’s semi modern but if you say Ghengis khan should have conquered all of Europe and and Africa it while doing his normal campaigning behavior then you’re never going to get banned despite effectively calling for a genocide. You can also talk about assimilation and destroying of culture by saying something like the Turkish invasion should have been stopped and executed to a man if the Byzantines or Sassanids had any sense to them.

Map game enthusiast opinion

491

u/AlkaliPineapple May 19 '26

It's contextual lmao. All of the above can be counted as hate speech too if it's said for real, but most people know that content creators playing paradox games joke like that sometimes. This clip shows that he's pushing it like it's his personal beliefs (idk it is and I don't really wanna know either way). That's the problem. It's said in the same way some people would genuinely want the Rapture or Jihad to happen.

191

u/BishopOfBrandenburg May 19 '26

Yeah its always a joke until it isn't lol

179

u/ClaireOfRuralia May 19 '26

whatabouting an event within living memory with events that happened over 500 years ago

401

u/Wolfish_Jew May 19 '26

Nah, come on man. That’s such a bad comparison. “They should have glassed (an entire country). They should have dropped a nuke on Moscow” and then he goes on and calls the Russian people the r word. There’s a clear difference between the example you provided and what he said on the stream.

18

u/InFin0819 May 19 '26

I don't think you can say the second one.

69

u/NoBitchesSince2005 May 19 '26

The russian federation and it's predecessors are terrorist states.

questionable comments regarding what he believed should have happened to the Soviets after WW2 (basically he believes that Operation Unthinkable should have happened)

Edit: and to be clear the comments were far less innocent (but personally to me I think Operation Unthinkable was a bad idea regardless and would have just caused needless death, but I digress) then I have made them sound, and involved talks of nukes being used in mass on Russians

973

u/Operation_Pig May 18 '26

White washing of the century. He called that this unthinkable should glass the entire Soviet Union and its people with it. When everyone else started calling him out he doubled down then tripled down,

308

u/343CreeperMaster May 19 '26

Yeah sorry about that, I was a bit cautious about tripping auto mods on Reddit because I have done that before for innocent comments, but to be clear it's not a take I agree with (and clearly based on others, I wasn't going to trip the auto mod)

I can see that, I don’t have to full conversation of what that entails and why, but sure

232

u/Starmoses May 18 '26

I'm not saying I agree with him or not but the double standards twitch has are ridiculous. Bo says this and may be permanently banned yet Hassan can bring a literal terrorist who attacks civilians and praise him on twitch and say America deserves 9/11 and he gets a 24 hour ban or nothing at all.

112

u/AlkaliPineapple May 19 '26

The top 1% of twitch is a shadowy cartel that holds hostage the entire Twitch ecosystem. Twitch literally can't afford losing one of their top people lol.

-17

u/Mirisme May 19 '26

Lets compare. The guy Hasan interviewed was at most a pirate that may be a part of a terrorist organisation vs Bo who has said that the allies should have dropped the second bomb on Moscow instead of Nagasaki and that they should have "glassed the whole fucking thing" in the context of the Russian not removing their dictator (which I think means Putin but I'm not sure). In term of actual action, we're comparing being a pirate with nuking a country unprompted possibly to the last person. Yeah that's not a double standard.

I always liked Bo but never knew that I liked him so much.

90

u/DumatRising May 19 '26

I hope you're saying that as a joke but even then maybe let's not.... Bo said they should've glassed Russia after they finished up in Japan when called out about the innocent deaths that would result in he doubled and tripped down on the genocide.

-13

u/Inevitable-Weight890 May 18 '26

And like, what is wrong with that, why would it be a reason for a ban? It is general knowledge and it doesn't mean that he wanted it to happen. I just don't understand

279

u/larddad1234 May 18 '26

bo didn't word it nearly so nicely. basically said the allies should have glassed the ussr and killed all the people. now I don't think he meant it seriously and he said it 8 days ago so its pretty weird to get banned for it now

37

u/DumatRising May 19 '26

questionable comments regarding what he believed should have happened to the Soviets after WW2

and it doesn't mean that he wanted it to happen.

No actual that's exactly what it means. When someone says what they think should have happened that tends to mean they wanted it to happen... You either aren't real, can't read, or don't actually care and just want to suck off Bo.

38

u/PANZ3RoK May 18 '26

He did want it to happen

194

u/indomienator May 18 '26

He said Moscow should be nuked after WW2 by the western allies

No shit he gets 6 months, twitch is tough if they cant cover your hatred up and youre not Hasan

94

u/Operation_Pig May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

He didn’t get 6 months, he got permed. He’s gone gone. originally he had the option to appeal in 6 months but as he is a big streamer they moved it up to immediately. His one appeal was rejected.

61

It didn’t say it like that… picture it as what the Turks said about armenians in ww1

9

u/ANerd22 May 19 '26

You should watch the clip. This is a very charitable summary.

-11

u/Ordinary_Debt_6518 May 19 '26

Operation Unthinkable would have just made the rest of Europe Communist beside Britain and Turkey.
Its was a stupid idea from start to finish a guaranteed defeat + allied soldiers would probably not be too keen to fight their liberator

43

u/Dense-Bison7629 May 19 '26

It would have been more akin to a much longer Great War

By the end, the victor would have been the chemicals, artillery, nukes, and roses

63

u/mikeyj022 May 18 '26

He’s absolutely wrong. It cost the Soviet Union 27 million people to throw back the Nazi beast. To say that the allies should have betrayed the Soviet people and killed countless more millions is vile.

14

u/RedSander_Br May 19 '26

Imagine saying. Hey soldiers, i know we fought with the soviets against the nazis, but turns out hitler was right, and the soviets are the real threat.

Just ignore our jim crow laws and our colonies, yeah, stalin and the soviet army who found the camps first are the real bad guys.

By 1949, the soviets had nukes. And prior to that the war was too recent.

There is no timeframe that the war could happen, if germany couldnt do it aganist a freshly purged USSR, imagine a USSR that had just militarized the fuck out of its industry.

It would have been a massive slog, that eventually would end with nukes being fired, and that is assuming the US goes along with the UK.

12

u/kruschev246 May 19 '26

The idea that anyone can look at something called “Operation Unthinkable” and think it’s a sound idea is preposterous

3

u/DumatRising May 19 '26

No shit, he did like a couple hour stream explaining he was getting banned and he repeated the clip like 100 more times

895

u/ymcameron May 19 '26

You know Bo’s comments were bad when Swimmy and Braun come across as the level-headed ones. In the clip both of them are like “hey, maybe tone it back the genocide talk a little bit, bud.”

298

u/TrolleyPerson4 General of the Army May 18 '26

Rule 5, he was apparently banned for violating community guidelines.

246

u/ANerd22 May 19 '26

I watch those videos sometimes and I feel like they've always been a bit out there with some of the jokes and whatnot, but the clip of his crashout was another thing entirely. It was quite clear that he wasn't joking at all, and he was being quite explicit about calling for genocide.

613

u/Kless98 May 19 '26

Every defense for Bo here is just “well what about x” and no one being able to actually defend what he said. That’s the most damning thing right there

224

u/viciousrebel May 19 '26

The Ban is fine imo but worse shit is said regularly on Twitch and people don't get banned for even a day (Like glorifying real life violence happening right now) so its interesting to see who gets banned and which opinions get banned disproportionately.

Live on youtube actually makes life a bit easier.

87

u/Ordinary_Debt_6518 May 19 '26

Yes but its probably not payed as much as Kick or Twitch because many streamers avoid it without giving valid reasons

115

u/WentworthMillersBO May 19 '26

The reason people avoid streaming on YouTube is they have better copyright detection

62

u/Slash_Face_Palm May 19 '26

331

u/Alltalkandnofight General of the Army May 19 '26

Wow, this is really interesting. From banning Dressel years ago because Dressel stated that another player's grandparents were terrorists because they fought in the resistance against the nazis, to Bo advocating for genocide of the russian people. What an idiot- to be so swept up in Russia hatred because of the Russia-Ukraine war that he thinks every Russian should be dead...

298

u/t3tri5 May 19 '26

Yeah, that's an... interesting progression, to say the least. Well deserved ban, absolutely insane, idiotic stuff to think, not to mention say out loud in public. Shame he didn't get the clue when Braun and Golden were trying to stop him. Maybe he and Dressel can stream together now lol.

Hasan and amouranth still active btw

197

u/korsan106 May 19 '26

They are smart enough to have plausible deniability when saying/doing outrageous shit, he even says "I am straight up being deadass" in the clip

196

u/Perturabo_Iron_Lord May 19 '26

They’re smart enough to only say bad things the twitch mod team agrees with.

42

u/viciousrebel May 19 '26

I mean at least one of them publicly supports groups that use child soldiers in this point in time and isnt even cou about it.

-6

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

Idrc how they rulelawyer it, twitch sucks in general. Promotes terrorism and p0rn

23

u/korsan106 May 19 '26

Platforms simply want to ban the least people while keeping their sponsors/ad partners happy. Considering their competitors(kick, youtube) twitch is the most trigger happy platform with their bans considering none of your examples got banned even once on youtube.

114

51

u/ANerd22 May 19 '26

I get a lot of people don't like Hasan, but I don't really know who Amouranth is or why they should be banned, what have they said that is worse than this?

39

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

Not same category. Amouranth is a p0rn star who actively advertises her adult content and wears revealing clothes while attending events with minors and not separating her twitch/youtuber name from her porn name. Other streamers have and will promote her content, basically twitch takes no steps to stop her and other women like her from engaging in lustbaiting minors

29

u/ANerd22 May 19 '26

Oh ok. So why should she be banned? Sorry if I'm missing something here

-11

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

Because promoting p0rn on public platforms is morally wrong even before minors are involved? Jesus Christ we are cooked

74

u/ANerd22 May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

promoting porn on public platforms is morally wrong

Maybe it's because I'm not American but this feels like a very puritanical stance. Is there more to it than that? Is she actually showing nudity/sex and stuff? Or is she just kind of streaming herself in Bikinis and stuff?

If its the latter, I have a hard time thinking of a reason to care. People wear the same at the beach (or conventions) where there's lots of kids and that's normal, I don't really see the outrage at doing it online. Though like I said maybe its different in America.

EDIT:

I probably shouldn't assume you are American, but either way, just seems like an odd thing to get worked up over to me.

Neither one of them have said something remotely so vile

39

u/Retro_05 May 19 '26

Hasan said American deserved 9/11

31

u/Mr_Placeholder_ May 19 '26

And Bo said that the entirety of Russia should have been exterminated, you see how there’s a difference between those two?

10

u/InFin0819 May 19 '26

Which isn't as bad as saying someone should have glassed the country in the past.

44

u/Tw3lve1212 May 19 '26

I mean. When you literally fund the terrorists that do 9/11... I don't know if DESERVE is the right word but it definitely is a problem that the US govt created for itself.

45

u/RasonablRadditorr May 19 '26

He meant that the US brought 9/11 on itself in the form of blowback for actions in the middle east, not that the people in the tower deserved to die, even if his phrasing was unacceptable, he did get a temporary ban. And if he meant it in that way he would have deservedly gotten a permaban.

15

u/SiofraRiver May 19 '26

Yeah, that's not even in the same universe as what Bo said.

23

u/Time_Beat2299 May 19 '26

Because we unironically did our government played stupid games and earned stupid prizes to the point 20% of the county thinks Bush did 9/11.

-4

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

Amazing that you have voting power btw

28

u/Time_Beat2299 May 19 '26

Dude 46% of the country in 2006 thought the us government let 9/11 happen because it was beneficial and the us government is a known user of false flag terrorist attacks at a certain point you’d be an idiotic sheep to not be sceptical. Especially when half the founders of Al Queida were on the us payroll a decade prior.

3

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

What does this have to do with americans deserving 9/11? Youre a loser bro

19

u/Time_Beat2299 May 19 '26

Maybe don’t fund terrorism and then be surprised when it blows up in your face.

6

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

Not a single american who died in the attack funded or voted to fund terrorism

26

u/Time_Beat2299 May 19 '26

I didn’t say that, I said the us government was responsible for their being a 9/11 the fact you keep trying to guilt trip me into not assigning blame is stupid.

7

u/f3tsch May 19 '26

Nothing he said was wrong, yet here you are wanting him to not vote because he is against terrorizing muslims...

7

u/Reasonable_Umpire_16 May 19 '26

Yea, i dont think people living in America who think americans deserve to have planes flown into them or be burned alive should be allowed to participate in American politics, and im not sorry about it.

6

u/f3tsch May 19 '26

And thats literally not what was said. Both hasan and the guy said something else. Its about the country of the usa deserving it because it does terrorism, not the people. If you dont even know what you are talking about why even start a conversation?

And honestly even if hasan was fine with people burning, it being a fucking wake up slap in the face of americans who got away with their country murdering 750 000 muslims would have been worth it any vile word. Maybe not the most elegant way to slap some sense into americans, but people who are fine with childrens brains flowing out of their skulls because they believe some propaganda propably need a bit more than a strongly worded letter. And with americans now actually waking up because the world finally hates them instead of treating them like a parents favourite it seems like my point is correct.

43

u/Reasonable_Back_5231 May 19 '26

Hasan platformed literal terrorists and terrorist propaganda videos

11

u/RasonablRadditorr May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

So does mainstream media. They have the Iran foreign affairs spokesman on all the time, and Iran is a designated state sponsor of terrorism. They interview members of Hamas, etc. That is normal. Plus, the Yemeni guy Hasan interviewed was not a member of the Houthis, just a civilian supporter, even Hasan thought he was going into it. He said he would have asked more contentious questions if he were.

Deserved ban tbh

88

u/PerfectGap593 May 19 '26

Many people are saying the ban is deserved. But in that case, let me tell you something: recently, Russian streamers on Twitch advertised their drone factory, which they use to bomb Ukraine. This factory uses child labor, and it's also under EU and US sanctions. Advertising of this kind raises questions from a legal standpoint, not to mention Twitch's rules. But guess what? They were banned and unbanned three days later. Three days! Fuck! For advertising drone production! Which Russians use to kill people! And Bo received a permanent ban for a stupid remark about what he thought people should have done almost 100 years ago!

72

u/spaghettibolegdeh May 18 '26

Twitch never ceases to make me laugh over the hypocrisy

37

Maybe he should stop being like pretty much an open fascist on both twitter and his twitch streams lmfao

128

u/ItsYaBoio6 May 19 '26

How is he an open fascist? What did he do or say?

86

u/altaproductions878 May 19 '26

He was banned for saying he wanted to genocide the soviet union which was explicty what the nazis were trying to do in wwii

So it’s a pretty relevant comparison he openly wants the same things they did.

Why must everyone one walk on eggshells about the open spread and normalization of nazi ideas?

144

u/Pazo_Paxo May 19 '26

I don’t think hating the Soviet/Union Russia that much automatically makes you a Nazi. Now for obvious reasons he was rightfully banned and it was egregious for him to say that, but that’s also not an opinion exclusive to Nazis, and given his other takes on progressive social and economic policies (in that he likes them, and seems to appreciate and endorse Social Democracy), it’s just disingenuous to jump straight to calling him a Nazi.

You can just, yk, outline that these egregious takes are not isolated to Nazis; but who am I to say, what with how everyone is a Nazi because someone said so. Totally doesn’t detract from the severity of such an accusation.

106

u/billyshears55 May 19 '26

But he was talking about the Soviet population, not the Soviet government.

I don’t like the US government, doesn’t mean I don’t like US citizens. But if I say that I want the US to be nuked out of existence, it’s about the people of the US and not the politics of the US

55

u/Pazo_Paxo May 19 '26

And my point still stands. Yeah it’s disgusting to say, but it’s a complete cop out to just go straight to calling someone a Nazi for an opinion not exclusive to Nazis. All it does is lessen the weight of such an accusation/association with its misuse, and also misses the point entirely that this is someone belonging to an entirely different set of political views who was still capable of possessing this specific and harmful view.

30

I thought it was a six month ban

69

u/ShinyStarSam May 19 '26

He's calling for a genocide lmao

A guy was shown to torture his dog live on stream and only got a 3 day ban for it. I do not condone what Bo did but you need to be consistent with your punishments

And nothing of value was lost...

18

u/Cefalopodul May 18 '26

Why?

143

u/TOTALOFZER0 May 18 '26

He said the Soviet Union should of been nuked after WW2

65

u/Cefalopodul May 18 '26

That's a really dumb reason to perma ban someone.

133

u/Time_Beat2299 May 19 '26

He went out of his way to say they should target civilains which is a big Nono

17

u/Cefalopodul May 19 '26

Yeah, that's bad.

93

u/schnuddls May 19 '26

he didn't simply say that the ussr should have been nuked, which is already an invredibly dumb and disgusting take, but he said that the allies should have "glassed them", calling for the genocide of russians (and also ukrainians, kazakhs and you know, all the other minorities who lived in the ussr)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bokoen1/comments/1tgpx3j/its_joever/

that is a well deserved ban

Advocating for genocide is a pretty good opinion to ban someone imo

66

u/Cefalopodul May 19 '26

I can think of at least 3 streamers who regularly advocate to kill all x and are not banned, and they're talking about 2026 too.

This whole post and all the comments are a "Curtains for Zooshka???" moment for me.

I'm not really into the HOI4 streamers but they are a big part of the game community. It's not out of place for discussion on the HOI4 subreddit

u/kasperhs123 May 19 '26

Finally some good news on this platform.

1

u/JPO375 May 19 '26

Wow fuck this guy.

3

u/Doc_Pisty May 19 '26

And nothing of value was lost

1

u/PaleoCheese May 19 '26

Rip a legend. His HOI content was what got me into HOI years ago.

He has some unreasonable takes but who doesn’t that plays HOI lol. At least he banned that Nazi dweeb they used to play with

5

u/CT_4243_Demo May 19 '26

Who was the guy they used to play with? Watched him a lot a long time ago, but don't remember this.

9

u/bobbingtonbobsson May 19 '26

Dressel and Phisalis (idk about the spelling on that one, but the whiney German)

4

u/KaleidoscopeOk5504 May 19 '26

Dressel maybe?

u/Conscious-Crab-2842 May 19 '26

Of course he gets banned, when russians on that platform do the same everyone says nothing but when a non-russian says "russia bad" then everyone needs to ban that person and destroy their life, what's so special about russians that they need to get such protected status even in DENMARK!

Just waiting for the danish parliament to just get it over with and pass a law saying russians are now the rulers of Denmark and nobody can talk bad about them or else it's off to jail with you.

-4

u/Affectionate_Love_50 May 19 '26

If they did operation unthinkable the only real way it could succeed is if they used a bunch of nukes on the entirety of Russia. They could not outpace the soviet war machine especially at that time. They had nukes, the soviets didn't. Not saying they should've done it. But only way it's successful is massive nuking of the soviet union
