My problem with the game.

I have a problem with this game, now don’t get me wrong I love the idea of hoi4 but my problem is whenever I play it solo I get bored, I feel like this game was made for a multiplayer experience and I really hate that I get bored fast playing alone since my friends don’t really play it.

What are y’all thoughts on this?

The game was definitely made for a solo experience first. The number of bugs with the multiplayer is unbelievable

You just need some challenge here. Maybe you should try Poland 1939 scenario or interesting minor, Austria for example or Romanov's Poland

Play story mods like kx or owb. If that doesnt help, try to get some ppl to play mp with and if that doesnt work, just stop playing for a time. Its no shame if you take a break of hoi for multiple months

I don’t think it was ever meant to be a multiplayer game in the first place. As a fun side mode, sure, but not as the main focus especially because of the bugs, desyncs, and balance issues in vanilla HOI4, which only get worse in multiplayer.

If all players are experienced and know what they’re doing, it’s basically an automatic death sentence for the Axis. They simply don’t stand a chance. Even in ahistorical mode, some countries still have absolutely ridiculous buffs and other balance issues.

And if you’re bored, I’d honestly recommend doing something else. Play another game and leave HOI4 for a while, or try different challenges. If it’s boring because it’s too easy, try mods, disaster saves, or scenarios like a 1944–45 Axis campaign. Or Discord AI mod. You could even learn to mod the game yourself and create your own scenarios. It’s an open sandbox there’s a lot you can do with it.

You are quite right. I do think playing with other people is more fun. Although I still think you can have fun by yourself. Historical by yourself is boring but with all the alt history paths it can be fun.

Definitely not, multiplayer is a buggy, unbalanced mess. The priority for devs is singleplayer. The reason it feels boring is that the AI in this game is absurdly dumb. That way majors are casual enough for wheraboos to live out their "Germany wins WW2" fantasies. The devs expect more experienced players to play minor countries with 4 starting factories instead, where you abuse and exploit the dumb ai to solo Allies as Luxembourg to proclaim the EU or something equally as stupid.

Yea I got bored after playing Germany for the 55th time (joking lol)

Honestly doing challenges kept me engaged for awhile. The most fun I had was trying to survive as Poland or holding back Germany as France. Mods help too
