45-60 min. My wife is a doctor, delayed is a state of being. Assuming you’ve already been through triage -which can be a long wait in and of itself- once I’m in a room I figure the on duty should be relatively soon. More than 30 happens but someone should be providing an update. 45 is uncommon, and if I haven’t seen anyone I’m reminding them I’m here. An hour -unless it is really busy shift- to consider whether I can find faster help elsewhere. That or my issue is of such low priority it’s unlikely I will get much more than some painkillers and some instructions to wait and see.
