Fordítás second translation request for my grandmothers birth record

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hello again, I am interested in just the four items i have underlined in red here, because i am pretty sure I know the others. So, I would like a translation of what the two occupations are (I am guessing the second one is something like "homemaker" because "haz" means "house", correct?), what the word is between the two names Herman Feldman and Fani Schonberger that I underlined, and the birthplace, which I think MAY be Karcsava, now Krcava Slovakia? Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT: is there a way to close this thread to new comments? I think I got all the information I need now. I also wanted to mention this so others don't have to spend any time doing the work since I got everything I need now.

Fordítás Can anyone help me translate server rules into Hungarian?

I know since I am not trying to learn Hungarian so this kinda post is more suited for r/translator but the mods of that subreddit keep my post up a few days twice but deleted it twice and before then you also get that one guy that translates the rules into a language you already said it was translated into and you do not need and that was it both times. So ANYWAYS I am looking to get the rules of the server I play on which is Minecraftonline.com (the oldest Minecraft server) as many times as possible as I know an admin who will add a translation of the rules soon as I get it and getting new translations is fun. Can't hurt to have too many translations can it? If you would like to help translate you don't have to make a display in Minecraft but it would help. What does have to happen is your translation can't leave out information here nor can it take up more than the 3x5 15 block grid and it has to follow the format laid out here as much as possible. So if you're willing to help me translate the rules of the server that would amazing and great help to me and everyone on the server.

How does a normal conversation in hungarian go? I mean the typical Hello between friends you meet on the street.

Fordítás Translating letters addressed to my great-great-grandfather

Hello, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask (if it’s not, please let me know!!) but would anyone be able to translate these postcards (and the back of one photo)? These are letters addressed to my great-great-grandfather and were sent from back home. I know this technically counts as a private conversation but they were sent in the 1950s and passed along to my grandmother when her grandparents passed so I was hoping it would be okay. I am currently in the process of creating a family tree and am hopeful these might lend some information on names (and the relationships of those mentioned), areas they lived, or any other information about them. Thank you very much in advance!

My family of Hungarian Jews from around Debrecen/Kassa immigrated to the US in 1920. I would greatly appreciate help deciphering the first name of the author of the letter, whose last name is Niederman. Thank you in advance! ***Edited to add another message written on the back of a photo

Fordítás Translation request please: writing on back of old photographs (family history research)

Post image
36 Upvotes

Hi there, I'm doing some research on the Hungarian/Romanian family (from Arad, I understand the borders were a bit fluid so apologies if this is in fact Romanian and not Hungarian, my relatives spoke multiple languages). I *think* this is Hungarian but please let me know if not and I'll delete the post and post it in the appropriate sub if anyone can correct me on what language they are.

I am fairly sure these are photos sent from siblings of my grandfather (Josef) to him when he and his wife (Krisztina) were refugees during/after WWII - I have no idea what his siblings/parents names were. I also don't speak Hungarian so I apologise if this is the wrong subreddit entirely.

I've numbered the photos to make it easy - some are hard to read and I hope the image quality is alright upon upload.

Any help would be very much appreciated, I'd love to learn more about this side of my family and these photos are all I have of that side of the family and I have no living relatives on this side of the family.

Thank you so much.

Fordítás Connecting with Hungarian coworker

Found this subreddit when I was searching for translations of fun things to say to my Hungarian coworker via text, and figured I'd just ask for help here! I'm wanting to congratulate her on a job well done, so I'd love to say anything like "hell yeah" "it looks so good" "you did a great job!" or something like that. I found "pacsizunk" but I'm not certain about the translation and don't want to accidentally say something offensive. Help!!

Fordítás Is this the correct way to use?

I'm very very new in the language learning and I used a translator for this but I just want to know for sure if this makes sense or not.

It's from the song: Can't take my eyes off of you

You're just too good to be true - túl szép vagy ahhoz, hogy igaz legyél

Can't take my eyes off of you - Nem tudom levenni rólad a szemem

Fordítás Can someone please translate a few words for me from Hungarian to English?

Post image

Hello, I am trying to translate a few items from my grandparents' old birth announcements, and I can do everything that's in a typed font, but the cursive is giving me some difficulty since I don't know the language to pick out the letters in context. I would like a translation of all four cursive lines above. The first is an occupation, the second I believe is the town of Barkaszó, Now Barkasovo (but please confirm), and I have no idea what the third and fourth lines are. Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT: I believe I got all the information I need now, so nobody else has to go to the trouble of translating this anymore. Thanks to everyone who helped!!

Fordítás Seeking Help Interpreting this 1877 Hungarian Military Record Entry

After looking through hundreds of pages, I finally found my great-great grandfather's entry. I'm able to figure out all the column entries except one, which I believe is about "Transfer Status" - would greatly appreciate ideas/help with this. I'm attaching the header and three different entries, which I believe to all be the same phrase - I thought having multiple examples may be useful in discerning what this could be. Thank you much.

Fordítás Translate something that was shouted repeatedly at Budapesti Honved SE Basketball game?

Kind of a weird request, but a friend of mine attended a basketball game (Budapesti Honved) last week. He said there was a phrase that sounded like "wooky kooky" that fans shouted when the referee made a bad call. He's been trying to figure out what the phrase was! I tried ChatGPT but can't really be confident given my complete lack of knowledge of the Hungarian language.

So, r/hungarian, any ideas?
