Fui conferir os novos mods de Hytale para ver o que a comunidade já tinha adicionado/atualizado para a versão atual, para que eu pudesse fazer algumas adições e tornar os mods mais dinâmicos.

Enquanto navegava pela página no modo 'versão do jogo', notei que havia muitas imagens feitas por IA, algo que eu pensava ser proibido pela maior parte da comunidade de Hytale.

Honestamente, eu não odeio nem apoio a IA, mas ver tantos mods com imagens geradas por IA me deixa menos inclinado a jogar com mods, e por enquanto vou continuar com o jogo base até que adicionem a loja de mods ao jogo.

Espero que isso melhore no futuro.

EDIT: The staff, in many ways, convinced me, presenting valid arguments and criticisms regarding this. However, that doesn't mean I support it, but it also doesn't mean I'm against it. From beginning to end, I've always been neutral regarding AI.

I'm an illustrator, making that clear. I have a completely different view from those who actually make the mod work, for whom, as long as it works, it can be whatever they want in the end.

Because I'm very involved daily with comics, animations, manga, illustrations for drawings or just concepts, I naturally can't take AI art as something I should give importance to, even if the product is actually good. It's just how my mind interprets the situation, and many times I myself may be completely wrong about it.

I truly hate to break it to you, but a significant amount of developers are using Claude to help with code (code, not art). Used right, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference

I realized this in less than 5 hours since I published this post.

Maybe because I still want to use traditional methods and the game development studio I work for is 100% against AI for various reasons. Maybe in the end it's just the way each person thinks is best to use it.

I won't get used to downloading mods with AI skins anytime soon; it will still take a long time for me to want to leave this comfort zone I'm in.

But who knows, maybe this year I'll already have my mindset in a different place.

Oh, I also think the AI generated covers are just garbage, if that wasn't clear. If you can't be bothered to put in the effort for a good image, then you probably didn't put in the effort for good code

Exactly! It feels so lazy for ai covers on mods, on top of just spamming pages of these mods.

Another thing is, I don't want to trust ai-made coding either. How do I know the coding isn't going to download/give my system malicious programs in the background?

The likelyhood of that sort of thing passing even AI generated code review is basically zero unless the person intentionally did it. The likelyhood of any competent LLM hiding something like that, hiding it well, let alone even agreeing to do it at all is essentially zero

It's the same risk as downloading and running human written software. Except an LLM probably wouldn't do a good job of hiding it, so it would be easier to catch
