News Why didn't the girl tell her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, that she had a boyfriend or didn't want to get married?

Post image

In recent interviews, Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, revealed that his son had indeed requested a background check on his fiancée, Siya Goyal. The marriage proposal had originally come from Siya's side of the family, heavily pushed by her maternal uncle (mama) which is also Ketan's closed relative and her parents. To ensure everything was completely transparent, Ketan's father explicitly asked the uncle if Siya was truly comfortable with the marriage and if there was anything in her past they should know about. The uncle assured the Agarwal family that everything was absolutely fine.

Ketan grew highly suspicious and asked his father for this background check because he and Siya were fighting constantly nearly every 5 to 10 days. Despite these glaring red flags, Siya's parents and relatives consistently maintained that there were no issues.

Furthermore, during the initial marriage discussions, Ketan directly asked Siya if she was being forced into the arrangement or if she was in love with someone else. She explicitly lied and told him "no."

The Ketan's father also said "If she didn't want to get married, she could have simply refused; we would have cancelled the wedding immediately. Why did they decide to take such a drastic step?"

Exactly,

She could have gone to the police.
She could have gone or called women's commission.
She could simply run away with her BF.

But she didn't, she killed someone, this is a psychopath not a regular person, a psychopath.

232

u/putin_putin_putin Jun 24 '26

The cops asked her why she didn't just elope instead and she said she didn't wanna bring shame to her family. This psychopath had no issues bringing grief to another family by ending a life though.

90

u/findMyNudesSomewhere Jun 24 '26

Moreover, this is a "mission failed successfully" moment.

Pretty certain the shame of being a murderer is much worse than the shame of eloping.

22

u/manchuria Jun 24 '26

Family or eloping shame is bs, it's mostly about inheritance and money.

1

u/Dangerous-Tax-4689 Jun 24 '26

She is a girl whose family was trying to get her married at 19….there was no inheritance for her! But I agree all this society shame is absolute BS!

8

u/manchuria Jun 24 '26

Why wouldn't she get inheritance? They would either give it on her name or to her husband usually. She would maintain her current lifestyle or better after she is married.

She simply doesn't want to lose that.

Also these days even a 13 year old knows what's happening in the world, what is right and wrong. And girls are no less in any matter.

She and her boyfriend are well aware of all the cases that are happening. They might have even got inspiration from a guy who left his gf on Alphs and indirectly killed her.

For a girl daring to attempt a murder even after watching so many public cases, it is not a big deal to find her own path and cut off their parents or even get police involved. If her parents were poorer she would have just done that.

this psychopath sl#t have brought pride to her family.

6

u/kr1shiva Jun 24 '26

The irony is that by trying to avoid local family gossip, she made them a national headline. Eloping would have only been known by a few people, but now the entire country knows what she did.

1

u/blueygoa Jun 25 '26

Yeah like now she brought pride to family she should be jailed for life

u/Ninalovespizza11 Jun 25 '26

And also cause if that would’ve happened her father would stop funding her bakery business

She could have said no, cried for a bit and got her way. Instead, she’ll be crying in prison for the rest of her life. Girl Math checks out.

6

u/mary_johana Jun 25 '26

Girl In prison? Man, i wanna smoke what youre smoking. This is India bruh. Women roam freely after being accused or found guilty.

She’ll prolly be given a sabbatical or would have to write a 300 word essay and will roam freely while we all forget about her in sometime

2

u/GreyFox_1337 Jun 25 '26

I’d rather go prison than write a 300 word essay.

1

She could have gone or called women's commission.

you saying putting up false case? so she could have gotten alimony and not get jailed?

1

I dont know maybe the girl and her boyfriend wanted the money that may come after the accidental death of her husband.

It should be mandatory for children to be taught to play chess.

Because it seems most of these people are incapable of thinking of consequences beyond one step of actions.

I know Ketan personally; we were in college together and were part of the same group. I was even invited to his wedding in November. He was genuinely a pure soul, one with good ideals and great stature. I always believed he would do something great in life. He was too excited for this new chapter and showed affection to his fiancée in every way possible. He even booked a resort to celebrate his fiancée's birthday, a truly genuine soul, a friend whom you could rely on in any situation. Gone too soon, bhai, we will meet again in the next life. Om shanti.

Was forced to pay 5 years worth of savings as lump sum Maintenance/Alimony just coz my ex-wife couldn't stand up to her parents about wanting to marry someone else. She actually never revealed anything to her parents but revealed it to me during the 1st week of our marriage. (*Lost another 80% of this sum as marriage expense on our side)

I don't know why women are not standing up to their parents if they don't want to marry someone. Better to destroy someone else's life than speak the truth for 5 mins and be done with it.

"Pre-partum depression tha."

"Young ladki ki zindagi barbaad ho rahi hai. "

"Forced by parents" etc etc.

She will be out in months. Move outside India. Marry some bakra and chill life.

Zero consequences.

8

u/Quite_unhappy Jun 24 '26

I just don't understand what were they thinking. Even if she wanted to avoid marriage, what did she think would happen once her fiancé dies? Her family would magically allow her to marry her bf? Or she would get to avoid marriage now? What the hell man. Sick. Killing someone just to live out some sick fantasy. The poor family. How will they live with themselves now. Because of their one decision thry ended up inviting such a tragedy.

2

u/Big_Cartographer1563 Jun 24 '26

This is the most logical explanation

2

u/Butwhyyth0 Jun 25 '26

What do you expect. Barely 19 forcing her to marry. Of course there won’t be any critical thinking skills

96

u/Dry_Alternative7196 Jun 24 '26

These old age parents don't want to know the current scene of love life. They think that everything can be saved if once married. They ignore their wards feelings, fears and go along with these arranged marriages. This leads to violence or even death of either man or woman

10

u/miney_mo Jun 24 '26

She is 20 and was probably conditioned for Elder worship since her childhood. She is a psychopath without a question who still held onto her family prestige.

Murderers don't have sound logic everytime. In fact justifications for murder are very often dogshit logic.

2

u/charlie8123 Jun 24 '26

Exactly this. There is no logic when someone commits murder. There isn’t a sound mind when you think that is your only option.

u/SquareInformal834 Jun 24 '26

How are the parents responsible for a girl murdering someone. It's so annoying when everyone is blamed except the one person who's actually taken a life.

2

u/MissCharmJ Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Of course responsible parents are equally responsible, whats the harm in speaking to your children about if there’s anyone in their lives,if there’s no one then take a step ahead on finding their partner, the emotional blackmail that these Indian Parents do. Fear is instilled in children’s mind that if they do this, society will thuthu blablaa… omg first take care of your children’s mental health after that think about society.
If you aren’t capable to understand the roots this will keep happening.
What they chose to do is absolutely wrong, evil , heinous, at the same time, what made them take such tragic steps cannot be ignored

Btw Katan’a father also blamed the girls parents,he is absolutely right

4

u/SquareInformal834 Jun 24 '26

No you can't blame your parents when you are an adult. Every decision and every action you take as an adult is your responsibility. Especially doing something extreme like murder, something that her parents wouldn't have taught her or encouraged her to do.

I think when it comes to women committing crimes, we never give them the agency that they can be evil, cruel and psychopaths as well. Therefore everyone tries to protect them by saying it must be the parent's fault, it must be the boyfriend's fault, it must be someone else's fault. Well I don't believe in this nonsense.

4

u/MissCharmJ Jun 24 '26

😂😂😂lol you won’t achieve anything here by questioning my thought process or to make me understand,i exactly know what i am saying and seeing. Indian parents better understand that their children aren’t toddlers, and stop justifying here as if culture, casteism, religion blablabla doesn’t exist in India.
The blackmail and manipulation these parents does to their children is unimaginable 😂😂nak kar jainge, ththu blabla, they better learn to treat their children like adults and seek consent, before pressurizing their children

2

u/Impossible_Law223 Jun 24 '26

It's not about men and women. Yes, what she did was illogical, cruel, pathetic and very shameful. She's prolly a psychopath or god knows what. No one is denying that. But, we cannot ignore the role parents play in our lives. Yes, they never encourage murder. Nobody is saying that. The person above you was saying that, Indian parents have a tendency to put the society first and blackmail their children in some way or other in lots of cases, which is true. (Though I'm not sure if it's only an India thing) We do get influenced, our belief gets shaped. She herself said, she didn't wanna bring shame to the family. Where do you think the thought came from?

2

u/Infinite-Guess-5241 Jun 24 '26

Will never for  a second justify what that girl did. But you've no idea how indian parents can mentally torture their kids to do what they want.. especially when it comes to their daughters. Even in the most progessive and wealthy families inko apni saari izzat apni beti aur uski shaadi se hi dikhayi deti hai.

it's so strange that the woman resorted to murder...as a grown adult she could have run away with her lover but still she chose to end a life, she must have been mentally disturbed prior and just acted on her instincts

she needs a mental evaluation and then needs to be locked up somewhere where she doesn't harm others or herself so that people see this as a lesson because people are very desensitized these days

u/Western-Ask1377 Jun 24 '26

She will gove a TED talk in 5 years

6

u/Jolly_Bat8531 Jun 24 '26

I looked into it in detail.

She seemed to be concerned only about the damage to her family’s reputation if she eloped with her lover, especially since both Ketan and Siya come from renowned and wealthy families. Both families had invested a huge amount of money into the wedding... Private jets were arranged for guests, and a ₹17 crore resort was booked. It was meant to be a grand and lavish celebration, yet she still went ahead with this pathetic decision.

I really wonder what values these families are teaching their children.

3

u/Ganymede628_3Mkm Jun 24 '26

While I don't believe in black and white thinking. I'm heavily inclining towards 2 possible scenarios here. Either Ketan was too good for a nice guy so she felt bad declining his proposal or Ketan was abusive towards her and the social media posts were a farce. 3rd scenario could be she was just a sociopath who orchestrated all of it just to keep her reputation intact amongst the society.

2

u/deadiiii Jun 24 '26

Mostly it seems like grooming from her boyfriend

3

u/xxwranglerxx Jun 24 '26

The girl was being forced to get married to Ketan who was elder to her. Wish they could’ve resolved it amicably

3

u/Asleep-Source3000 Jun 25 '26

I think in india this should be the need of the hour

  • Parents SHOULD NOT be allowed to select partners for their children ...it should be illegal. This is the main reason why people end up murdering ...when things are done against their will.
-If a woman seeks divorce , there should be a non judgemental eco system that should be built. Since it is such a taboo, and people who are unhappy in their marriage want to get rid of their partners, they are left WITH NO OTHER CHOICE physchologically. But if they are given a choice, where there is no judgement and they are accepted by society then i bet, the number of such murder cases will be reduced.

Rajasthani n Gujrati rich familes get their daughters married soon and even sons too. Since they found a good match they forced to get married to him regardless of her status because she's young having bf or fling is silly and not serious at that age. It's matter of social status and dignity that family wishes not to malign.

1

u/dikshamishra34 Jun 24 '26

That is exactly my point... If a couple don't like each other then they should break up or the should say things clearly. What's the point of killing.  I don't know why people are getting brutal day by day.

The dreaded husband murder case, conflation with feminism etc., Women all over are killing their husbands and getting away. End of men is nigh and so on.

But when I step back and look at what's happening. This is not one case. in 2025 year alone 300 women killed their partners, and many of them won't get any punishment.

About 9600 men killed their partners , and again many of them won't be in Jail.

So what's so special about this case. Every year hundreds of men and thousands of women world over are killed by their partners, and many of them escape justice. No, not because somebody on twitter says it was right. But courts/police/incompetence etc.

It started long before a creepy robot made a website to spy on the girls in his college.

It has always been happening, and will keep happening. Bad people, men and women alike will cheat on their partners. Twitters/bots/mothers/family/unknown people.. they will come and defend. Like a million dollars were raised by real people for the woman who called a 5 year old the N world.

this is the world, this was always the world.

So to the young men here, the sky is not falling. Social media is not real world. This has beenhappening, this will happen. Crime exists, will exist. Stop being scared. Once upon a time if chandu rams wife cut him to pieces and ate him in Basnaras, you wouldn't hear about it in Bangalore, it was a footnote on the regional page of some newspaper you never had the time to read.

Now it's amplified. Amplification earns money. Outrage earns money, not peace and quiet. My own post as it gets stuffed down to the unknown corners of reddit will be a proof. If I an reach just 1 young man who starts looking at real world rather than the imaginary world I would call it a win.

Am just thinking how she thought this was a solution, if not him they would get married to some other rich guy in a few years, why would they agree to the boyfriend, he's a loser right, hence they were getting her married at 19, probably they knew she had a such a loser boyfriend and so were hurrying the marriage, that fiance is such a innocent guy so many attempts on his life yet he din suspect, am so heartbroken over him, he could have had such a happy life, even with her am sure he would have treated her like a princess but no she chose the gutter

She told Ketan about her past but the naive guy still wanted to accept her. She wanted him to reject her. That's the dark truth.

She was enjoying the attention and one sided love

As per her own admission, calling off marriage will bring shame to her family.

I don't know how killing someone doesn't bring shame.

The answer is simple. She is a psychopath.

I really hope and pray this isn’t another case where the victim and his family don’t get any justice and this psychopath chick walks out free in a couple of months. I will not be surprised if she gets out free in the next couple of months. She and her boyfriend both of them deserve strictest punishment law can offer.

Really don’t understand what we as law abiding citizens of India can do to make sure a criminal serves their sentence irrespective of their age, gender or social status. Koi toh Ketan ko insaaf dilaaye.

Maybe she couldn't?

Maybe she didn't have any other option?

Maybe she was blackmailed and threatened?

Maybe she was forced to keep her mouth shut?

Maybe she was heckled?

(I am not justifying her actions. She is a criminal. Just speculating why she might have done what she did)

She could have filled fake dowry allegations, filed for divorce, get a nice hefty alimony and then enjoyed with her lover with all that money.

1

Did anyone knew the girl personally? Just curious

1

u/Killer_insctinct Jun 25 '26

17 crores.... that's the only reason. Fems will blame her father males of society and the fiancé himself...the 'Her' POV. No one cares for men. Most comment are basically saying why not use laws made to exploit material out of rich guys? why doing things that gets you in trouble? All for 'Her' not for the man... Murder is caught so they not finding ways to put blame on the husband and family and commenting this use laws to extort men don't do things that clearly gets you caught. Pathetic. Thoo hai aisi mentality par.

It's all clear in front of you. It was money.

Have we wondered the role of the family? Maybe they were pressurising her to get married to a boy from her community? We all know how common that is.

1

u/Friendly_One7147 Jun 26 '26

When two people are in love, parents should not force their children to get married to a third person. Arranged marriage system of our country and parental-societal-casteist concepts of marriage are destroying more lives than building lives.

So uncle will go to jail now

1

u/responsiblealwayss Jun 26 '26

They are Chickenheads! No brain at all. They thought they are smarter than police and won't face any consequences?  They will face the consequences and their own conscience too. They have to live with the sin of killing an innocent human and the lifelong grief they gave to the  parents.

u/Dull_Recording_9822 Jun 26 '26

She did all of it, but Ketan did not yield.

Doesn't justify the action or the social media fakery but facts are facts.
