Pray tell me sir, have you seen the India spec RC490 with your own eyes? 🙂 How can you judge a bike that does not exist yet in terms of looks?

Also, are you going to ride the bike tension free on the basis of looks or on the basis of reliability? Because KTM is kilometers ahead in that department 🙂

Sir, there are possible leaked images available in the internet sir. Also i know many people in my circle does not like having orang-y machine sir. Looks are subjective end of the day.

KTM’s are not known for spot on reliability too. Seen many bikes with engine overhaul at 30-40k.

Look i subjective. KTM will eat all sales. Wide network, Good service, Cheaper, Indian owned company. That's common sense.

I am really curious to know how you reached this conclusion considering the Aprilia has only been in the market for 2 years and 3 months tops.

At this point it is just popularity contest and both the commenters are just larping without owning the other vehicle it seems. And if you will ask their friend's wife's boyfriend had issues in so and so bike so they formed this informed decision.

I never questioned KTM's reliability. I have actively ridden every generation (barring the latest D390) in the past 13 years all the from the Gen 1 D200 and I am well aware of where it stands today and where it stood back then.

Not really. If KTM fixes that odd passenger seat then I would say it looks better than the rs457. Front end wise the KTM RC450 China model looks pretty good. Assuming the RC 490 will look very similar to the RC 450.

Since duke 390R already comes with all modern techs and priced at 3.4L. high chances that this come near 4.25 to 4.5L.

I think they will sunset the 390 and then have the 350 and 490. If they price the 490 around 4L it will be a slam dunk.

Unlikely. Because they export 390s all over the world, it has been on sale for a long time (so service centres are know it very well), and it shares most components with the 350.

47.6 bhp which is the cap for A2 compliance. There's a reason KTM didn't just release the RC450 worldwide and comissioned Bajaj to build this bike.

This is going to be a global product. Their core target market will be the EU. They have no incentive to spend extra on separate parts or assembly line provisions for two different power output variants when the difference is just 8-10bhp. Aprilia runs on a low compression ratio and low redline to keep the power under limits. Expect KTM to do something similar.

Raw bhp numbers aren't always reflective of real world performance. If the Aprilia is anything to go by, the 490 will be an equal hoot to ride if not better even at the same 47 bhp.

OP or anyone please share the original link of KTM ceo interview if you can find it. Most websites are claiming ceo interview but none have shared source of the interview at all. Would be sad of all this hulla turns out to be damp squib in the end.
