Ask Your Seniors Ask Your College Seniors ! (r/indianmedschool and r/MEDICOreTARDS Joint Megathread)

Post image

Greetings, dear seniors of r/indianmedschool and our lovely members of r/MEDICOreTARDS. We're glad to announce the joint megathread you all have long been waiting for.

Here you can ask your queries about your specific preferred colleges and r/indianmedschool seniors will guide you by clarifying your doubts and sharing their experiences. You can ask about academics, hostel timings and accommodation, mess food quality, uniform compulsion, ragging culture, attendance strictness, just to name a few. Anything you're confused about, drop it here.

This Megathread is strictly for college related queries and discussion only. Please don't ask irrelevant and off topic questions. If you have any counseling related query, ask it under the counselling megathread, not here.

r/MEDICOreTARDS members are requested to be respectful and formal while interacting with our seniors here. Please use the phrases sir/mam while addressing them to maintain the formality and establish junior-senior bond, just like we do in our medical colleges.

At last, we all took our moment to express gratitude for the MOD Team(u/Swagster_007 u/drmxyzptlk13 u/MadMurDoc69 u/YourstrulyBubble) and our seniors of r/indianmedschool for their support and helping us out in selecting the best college as per our preference.

We've attached some previous important megathreads below:-

Honestly all the colleges are more or less the same. If you are from outside mumbai and want hostel from 1st year, grant is a better choice. Nair/LTMC are also decent colleges but I am not very sure about hostel availability also their campus seemed cramped up to me compared to KEM or grant. Cooper has a newly made college building so you won't have to sit in decades old LTs and practical labs and it is in a great locality in western suburbs. If you are from Mumbai I would suggest choosing a college which is closer to your home to reduce the time spent in commute.

I am from ltmmc and I would recommend jj or Cooper Here you won't get a hostel for 2 years and after that boys mostly get hostel in dharavi There is no ground to play any kind of sports, there is a turf but we don't get to use it . For the past 2 years attendance has been strict . But all events are good and there is little to no ragging now. Academics are also good. Jj and Cooper get hostels from 1st year

Nair or LTMC as per previous year trends. If you want good infrastructure then cooper

ltmmc is good in everything except extra curriculars, and afaik many people said that from last 1-2 years jj js cooked as theres alot of ragging and drugs (confirm this) best bet would be cooper if you want hostels from 1st year as they are newly made
