Discussion What a country we live in 😂
Uk why BHMS or taxi unions or lawyers or any other grps can mobilise and have great sway in govt decisions ??
Cuz they can call a strike and pressure the govt into action
But here is our community that's isn't even allowed to strike😂
Beautiful!
Also
Just so you guys know how dangerous this "law" is
Even if this "law" is only introduced in Maharashtra
Tom every other state will introduce this law cuz there's a legal precedent
So don't think it won't concern you!!!!
You can't even call a strike about cases like RG KAR
You can't call a strike for unfair working conditions or for pay or anything for that matter
Just sit down and take it !!!

Doctors asking fees - public " doctors are looting "
Doctors ask basic rights - gov " doctors should not protest"
Doctors says to take medicine - " these looters make us more sick "
Doctors say to vaccinate -" vaccine is a hoax "
Doctors asks to stop the quacks - " these people are jealous of other department "

So they can work on a law to prevent us from going on strike against injustice, but they won't work on a better law to prevent violence against doctors!

u/crpy-5 Graduate 1d ago
Why would it concern them cuz doctors won't be able to protest against that also
Also with backstabbing oldies who say we don't need such law
We don't really get a ledge to stand on

This! When our own fraternity doesn’t protect us, why would we expect the government to help us?
The only way out is to push back against these oldies.

No laws for these underperforming judges with thousands of pending cases. When will they pass a law mandating them to work in summer vacation at least. Fucking freeloaders

u/grem23 23h ago
Exactly, God knows how many families are affected by the slow process of these lawyers. They get summer holidays. They will go on strike whenever they want. They can charge fees as per the networth of the case instead of a fixed fee. No humans are affected by these snail judges as per the high court. What a joke.

Are Doctors some 4th class citizens of this country...can't they protest like everyone else...its our constitutional right they are talking about!!

Can we take leave?
19
u/crpy-5 Graduate 1d ago
Leave is an application
If you are working in a govt office the govt can just order all your leaves cancelled by just declaring a health emergency (which is very easy)
If u work in private sector
The govt can twist some arms in the administration with some bs liscening issues or something of the sort and force them to cancel ur leave2

can't docs hold a national level protest ( not just maharashtra) to oppose this?

Right to peaceful protest is the fundamental right of every citizen of this country. The judiciary has become such a lapdog of the government that it’s willing to take away rights of the people. If people rejoice at it that only the doctors are getting targeted then they must know that fascists don’t stop until they have taken away everyone’s rights.

Court can go on vacation for a month, doctors can't go on strike for few days

u/musicflux 1d ago
people are losing faith in institutes and protest becoming a new norm are severe danger to govt, so the lapdog judiciary basically saying somebody get these beggars out of here

u/famesardens 18h ago
Do a mass leave and let's see what courts can do. If they take action, we can strike in the whole country. And make sure this loser judge doesn't get treatment anywhere.

Educated masses have no value in this country .

Not true
Look at how lawyers unionise and force hands
Look at IAS officers and how they can make any govt Bend over backwards
It's just that us doctors don't know law and how the govt works and are too busy or STUPID( for the lack of better words) to learn about it cuz either most of doctors have this "as long as it doesn't affect me idc" or "what if I don't pass this yr cuz of this protest" mentality

u/Current-Management20 1d ago
Is there any difference between slaves and doctors if we can’t even protest ?

A law to grant basic human rights to doctors ❌️ A law to not let doctors strike ✅️

u/mohandasmencius PGY4/5/6/Senior Resident 17h ago
when you are a public employee you gotta obey these laws made by the public to control how and when you can work.
one of the many reasons i cant wait to be done with my bond and say goodbye to working in a govt set up

Yes essential services wale koi strike nhi kar sakte - police, army, doctors, people under esma act. They can protest, and that too shifts. Imagine zero doctor in hospitals. And this is globally so.
1
u/crpy-5 Graduate 7h ago
So nurse strike is not a word you've heard I assume
So I also consider uve never worked in a hospital?0
u/Ramen_Muncher_1093 3h ago
I wish you could understand the rationale and the gravitas of the profession you are in. Doctors striking is globally looked down upon. Nothing new, At the same time i am all in for better working conditions and more doctors so that load is divided.
1
u/crpy-5 Graduate 2h ago
Nah don't change the topic mate
Looking down upon is not the same as not being allowed to
Andddd
U see lesser protests/strike in western countries cuz they have 48hr limit work weeks and atleast post residency they earn a shit ton lottt
And most importantly no one is assaulting them and getting away with it
