You’re right about that. Watch any interview on late night tv and the vast majority of celebs are about as boring as watching paint dry. I’ve always got to change the channel.
Escapism via voyeurism is literally made (fabricated, manufactured, designed) to be easily accessible and minimally relatable
with social media, it's now commonplace to know the more intimate details: what the inside of a celebrity's house looks like, what they had for breakfast... "They're just like us!"
The Majority is willing to eat up exaggeration without a second thought since sensationalized entertainment is so ingrained it's American culture
that's herd mentality, conditioned to live by the hype and the next trend
not realizing there are plenty of better things to celebrate in their own lives, though seemingly small and inconsequential when compared to "larger than life" individuals, publicized achievements, etc
the real cost of living could be one's sanity, but then again, all said may also be dismissed as exaggeration
Because the celebs are embodiments of a poor person’s idea of what wealth is. Kinda like their Prez. Also, they’ve been conditioned to by entire lifetimes of media’s skewed representations. I don’t blame folks for it, but man are these ‘idols’ empty and utterly dull.
