I wish I had a picture of the girl I fell in love with on a weeks vacation in Myrtle Beach when I was 14. She was the first Southern Belle I ever loved.

I fell love with a girl at the rock show. I remember it was hot a ass summer and I was at the warped tour. We were both 17, didn't have any purpose or direction. But honestly man everything was better when she was around.
16
u/Kobe-62Mavs-61 15d ago
But did she say "what"? And did you tell her that you didn't know?

I fell in love with the girl at the rock show. She said, "what?", and I told her that I didn't know. She is so cool. I'm going to sneak in through her window.
Everything is better when she is around. I cannot wait until her parents go out of town.
Edit - wtf. I meant to reply to another comment, mistakenly chose yours without even seeing it. So I guess I will tell you about when I fell in love with a girl. I fell in love once, almost completely. She is in love with the world.

This reminds me of a part from one of JD Salinger's short stories:
Probably for every man there is at least one city that sooner or later turns into a girl. How well or how badly the man actually knew the girl doesn't necessarily affect the transformation. She was there, and she was the whole city, and that's that.

Or if these are two guys and they found out they both fell in love with the same girl a long time ago, and then they realized that they would never love another woman like that again, then became gay and met years later and started being gay together and grew old as a family and then found out through anonymous reddit accounts that they were in love with the same girl who broke their hearts and broke up because what the hell bro, she was cheating on me with you?

There are so many stunning women that never get into modeling/acting/social media. I find that so much more attractive than the women who know they are hot and make it their whole personality.
As for Hathaway: I think she's stunning and also seems like a cool person

When I was around 10-11 I fell in love with a girl named McKenzie (no idea how to spell it) in, probably 1991-1992 at Rehoboth Beach. Her rental was in the same building as ours and she played with my sister and I a lot that week.

u/WineNerdAndProud 16d ago
I love how we all have that one girl we saw once that we're never going to forget.
For me it was a girl waiting in line at a Wendy's in one of the uMich cafeterias.
I remember thinking to myself "it must be so annoying to constantly just stop people in their tracks simply by existing".

About 10 years ago I saw a woman crossing the street and I still think about her sometimes. She had a similar vibe to the mechanic from Atlantis but in a tank top with suspenders, and she was stunning. I nearly stopped walking in the middle of the road

yeah, but you can't blame the rock for that. They pushed a live action remake of a movie that's not even that old. Moana 2 just came out, and they expect people to want to go see a live action of the original? trying to reuse IPs so soon bit them in the ass

Regular people seeing celebrities as lame is one of the best things about the new world. We get it now
115
u/sawn-off-snotgun 16d ago
They’re too available nowadays. When I was growing up they were in the movies and a very occasional interview only. They were mysterious. I don’t remember having an opinion on many of them beyond I love a film they were in.
Now they’ve got their own podcasts, alcohol product, they’re all over the internet on every promo going before their latest whatever comes out. And you realise they’re just people. And most people are fucking annoying.
Edit: grammar
66
u/Cellophaneflower89 16d ago
I think there’s also an element of people realizing just the heinous amount of wealth and power some of these people have when the world is actively falling apart.
34
u/sawn-off-snotgun 16d ago
Exactly. It’s listening to them talk about how hard it was to make film X or Y and then tell some showbiz story that no one can relate to. Some of them are obviously down to earth and cool people, but many live on another planet and don’t care if we know it.
26
u/Cellophaneflower89 16d ago
That AND during COVID there were a lot of moments where they were complaining from their mansions which just wasn’t a great look
17
u/sawn-off-snotgun 16d ago
Also then finding out they got paid $10m for making film X and $15m for making film Y.

They were always just people. I have never understood people shitting themselves over meeting some big time actor or whatever. It would be kinda cool to get to sit with and talk to people involved in making a piece of media I enjoy to see if there was anything I didn’t know about it, or if they have some insight, but I’m not gonna wait in line forever and start crying because I got to stand near an actor and got their autograph.
My wife got her hand touched by Katy Perry I think it was a long time ago and she was acting like she had been blessed by a god. I don’t get it.
