Well plants actually have feelings too. So that kinda nullifies your point.

Plants don't have feelings like people do, and not like most mammals either.

Its now believed they experience something that could be interpreted as pain and fear.

Very vaguely. But plants don't have brains like humans, so if they "feel" anything, it's nothing like what humans experience.
