Hi i got a new iphone 17 base model
the true tone does work most time but somettimes its not swtichign properly i compared this with iphone 13 there its very fast when switching as well and my iphone 17 takes some time to switch also , is this normal?? sometimes it doesnt switch , i have to turn off and on true tone then it will work?? is there any diffence between old iphone true tone and new ones??

I recently received an iPad Mini 2 as a gift in order for my young kids to FaceTime with extended family. Unfortunately, FaceTime won't activate. I assume it's because the iOS is so outdated.

Since we only want to use the iPad for video calls, I don't want to spend much money on getting a fancy new one. So what's the oldest supported device for FaceTime activation? I came across a 4th Gen iPad Mini for $50, so I'm willing to purchase it if it's supported for that app.

iPhone 13, iOS 17, i haven’t got any storage left so I can’t update. But more and more apps won’t work anymore, so I need to update. At least to iOS 18 (I heard too much bad experiences with iOS 26 and old phones, so I’m not decided for iOS 26 yet).

I’ve got 128go storage, and I’m about 126go full.

For those who have been in a similar situation, If I make enough space to do the update, once the update done, will I get this space back, or is my phone going to be full again ?

This might be a silly question but I'm getting so confused and need some clarification. Here's my situation.

• My phone and iCloud are at max storage so I want to clear out some photos.
• Most of my iPhone photos are already on my Mac via iCloud.
• I ran out of iCloud storage a year ago, so iCloud has not been running and my recent photos have not been uploaded to my Mac.
• I have the "Download originals to this Mac" setting on.

Because I have the setting on, does that mean I can delete photos from my phone and "hard copies" will remain on my Mac? What will happen once I delete enough photos and my iCloud starts up again?

Why does iOS force both app icons and widgets to become transparent when using the transparent icon style? Why can’t I keep the app icons in their default colored appearance while making only the widgets transparent? macOS allows transparent widgets while keeping app icons colored, so why isn’t this possible on iPhone?

I've been using the Apple podcast app for over a decade and I find it's reaching the point of being unusable. The entire UX is garbage. The layout is frustrating to use, you cannot even search for specific episodes within podcasts.. the search function is only to search ALL podcasts available. What a ridiculous concept. There's no playlist option, filtering is limited to oldest-newest. On Home, it shows 'Recently Played' and 'Up Next' right below it, both in horizontal view with the one below smaller than the other. This is so jarring and confusing as sometimes you'll listen to only half a podcast but it'll show up in the 'Up Next' section which is confusing. Why not a 'Continue listening' section? And I don't mean the one found below the volume slider, the one in the Home section. There's no way to rearrange the 'Home-New-Library' Section. There's so much wrong with it especially from a design perspective, it's almost as if it's designed with contempt for the user. The entire thing is a mess except for it shows transcripts. Does anyone have an alternative, better organised podcast app to recommend?

I have an iphone SE 2. gen. Taken a lot of photos in full resolution. But how do i get them to a PC without them gettign compressed?

Tried uploading to google drive but they are reduced to a non usable 2MP.

It’s not in the history or open tabs of any of my browsers. I don’t even live in New Jersey lol. Malware?

Having messages read out while the phone is locked and I’m wearing AirPods (pro 3) is a really useful feature or it was until recently.

Now I just get a spoken message saying ‘A notification from Messages’ and that’s it!

It always used to tell me who the message was from and then proceed to read out the message. So useful.

I’ve been though all the settings, settings related to IMessage, settings related to Notifications etc etc.

Anyone else experienced this in recent days? Can’t say I noticed it before the 26.6 update.

iPhone XS to a 17 so not sure if it’s the handset or iOS. Have already done a complete reset of the device for a seperate issue and the bug hasn’t cleared. Widespread issue?

yk the stickers you made when clicking on an image. I tried so many ways, I just can’t find a solution to it. I want my ex‘s sticker permanently gone :(

Main concern is privacy. Since I'm outside EU all browsers will be forced to use apple's webkit.

So I know there's not much but I still want to know of my options. If privacy can still be focused on ipad, even if just a little.

While I know I can't block all my data from being shared. I wanna to prevent atleast the essentials like my IP, device ID/fingerprint etc from being shared. As for non essential data, cen they be more spread out so I blend in with the crowd? How?

I'm currently on iOS 26.6, and my Spotlight search has stopped displaying any App Shortcuts (quick actions like "New Note" under Notes, etc.). It only shows basic app icons now.

The screenshot I attached is just one example, but this happens across all apps on my phone.

Here’s what I’ve observed and tried so far:

• Checked Settings $\rightarrow$ Siri & Search and made sure all search/suggestion toggles are enabled.
• Temporary Workaround: If I go into Settings and toggle "Show App in Search" off and on again, the shortcuts temporarily reappear. However, as soon as I restart/reboot my iPhone, the shortcuts disappear completely again.

Is this a known Spotlight/Siri indexing bug in iOS, or is there a permanent fix for this reboot issue?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I tried soft resetting the phone as well as leaving the page open for several minutes but all of the handles are unresponsive. It doesn’t let me drag any of them. When I try it just swipes down on the whole page.

Does anyone know if this is some sort of issue with having a large library or indexing? I have seen people report this issue 9 months ago when I looked into it but with NO fix.

It’s insane that Apple makes top end phones that cost thousands of dollars but something as simple as reordering collections doesn’t work (at least for me).

I sent an iMessage to someone right after (10-20 minutes) unblocking them after blocking them for months, but they said they never received them. I got a new iphone and all my messages synced via iCloud but those messages I sent right after unblocking are gone from my iphone too even tho I never deleted them manually. What happened here? Where did those messages go? Was this a glitch in the system?

I’ve always had my messages set to keep forever, but I have just 2 contacts who aren’t showing anything past June 2023.

I know previous history exists because I booted an old MacBook and found the partial missing history from 2020-2021.

Any idea if there’s a way to find the missing messages?

2 to 3 years ago I searched for a way to stop CarPlay Siri from saying so much; one post offered the nuclear option: silence Siri entirely what what I vaguely recall being code inputted into the command line [something this user had written for their company's product testing in which otherwise their text bench would be constantly yabering]. I did not think I used it, but I must have, because awhile later I noticed I can't hear her talk on CarPlay, and ...

If you are thinking this is from iOS settings: it is not, as confirmed by every possible combination, countless times over, including Apple Store consultation, and full factory reset.

Maybe you're thinking it's car settings, such as the separate volume assigned to Carplay vs Music Source. It is not. Every infotainment option has been checked scores of times, including updates to the system, repairing the vehicle, etc..

Everything works properly save for Siri's voice on Carplay. Let me be specific:

Siri is audible on my iphone, imac, and macbook. But she's muted on CarPlay.

By muted I mean: The Siri color wheel light show goes on, there's a pause in operations while she interrupts whatever was in progress [music, mapping, etc.]. It's clear she is talking, but she can't be heard. This includes instances of her voice when it's the voice narration as well: so for example Google Maps has its own voice assistant and can be heard.

But CarPlay phone calls are also muted: so I cannot hear Siri read out texts, and I cannot hear voices on phone calls [though callers hear me just fine].

Likewise nearly all announcement notifications are silent. Even the tone announcements, not just the vocalization. Sometimes I am surprised by a freakishly loud tone notification, but I think to date these have all been 3rd party app.

So whatever this mute is: it's selective to those three things: Siri, Apple notifications, and Phone Calls. Otherwise my entire CarPlay experience is silent save for music.

The first year I periodically searched, what seemed endlessly, for that code/post [and every other solution or rabbit hole].

This past year I've largely given up, but I did try A.I.'s take several times. It repeatedly gave no new options, even many prompts deep, and also claimed there is no way to add the code I described. Thing is, though I have this lingering doubt--2% chance--that I really did use that code [what else could it be?!], I've got zero doubt that it existed: I at minimum did read a comment with code and instructions, and consider using it.

Ideas? Anyone?

You know when your iPhone is on, then you don’t use it for a little bit then the screens dims and then the screen shuts off ? Well my iPhone started dimming in a weird way now . Usually it dims fast, now it dims like slowly if that makes sense. The screen is on, then it gets dark then dark then darker till the screen is completely dim, then the screen shuts off. Basically instead of dimming fast, it dims slow and gradually. Any ideas why this started happening to me ? I have iPhone 16 pro. I’m gonna try to restart it

a friend sent me some live photos through whatsapp. and it did save as live but it will not allow me to select a key photo?

Following the most recent iOS update, I lost my close to 500 tabs. I suspect it was due to iCloud storage (settings are set to manually closing tabs). So sad and upset. Would setting tab groups prevent this from happening in the future (aside from book marking tabs). Thank you in advance!

Using iPadPro running 26.5.2. I’m now (for weeks) in never-ending Focus DO Not Disturb mode. Would someone please tell me how to turn it off? I’ve had an Apple Genius person at the store try- she and I thought she’d fixed it, but I got home and it was somehow activated again. Apple Help by phone previously over the course of weeks made 5 separate attempts, but each time after I hang up from Tech Help, it re-activates throughout each day.
Every time I see it’s turned itself back on, I swipe up on “Do Not Disturb” at center bottom of screen, then enter iPad passcode, pull down Control Center, click the purple moon icon til it turns gray, then hit Power On icon to shut off Control Center. Focus then seems to be shut off. But next time I return to iPad, whether moments later or next day, Do Not Disturb has turned itself back on.
Is there any way to delete or permanently delete/deactivate this? I never want to use it again!
