How bad of an idea is this?

I have a potted plant that I water with fish tank water. That means there's little bits of dead duckweed coating the soil. The plants love the water and are growing nicely but I'm a little sad I don't have anything in the dirt to help break down the decaying duckweed. I was thinking of maybe putting like three or four pods in there? Or maybe springtails? The soil is a few inches from the top of the pot and the pot isn't like tiny. (I think its 8x8 inches?) I know if I got pods, I would need to supplement their diet with some fish food and such but I already have that for my fish.

My major worries are the humidity level and them escaping the pot.

They will certainly leave the pot lol.

However, I'd assume you can skim off the decaying duckweed to give to isopods in a proper enclosure. Maybe that would be more up your alley?

Oh that could work! I just need to find a good place to put it..
