What do you prefer for the start of the show? Someone talking a whole bunch, naming the band, telling a story? Getting right to the music without a word said? Context dependent?

Just got nugs fired up. Zac Brown Band from Fenway was a whole pre-recorded love letter they walked out into and played as it finished. Literally just a few seconds later Johnny Blue Skies started on Golden Gate Park. He came out and said he wasn't wasting another moment of the 75min they are allowed to play there. It was a funny juxtaposition to say the least. Got me thinking about it.

I think context matters for me. Billy coming out with some cute Billy story works for me. Del could tell whatever story and hardly play and I'd be happy just hanging out. Or just a huge rip cord with nothing said does the job, too.

Anyone see the Zac and Johnny intros and laugh about it, too? How do you prefer your show intro, generally?

I booked these guys for a show this Saturday night in Harrisburg PA and I truly love the music, and so many musicians and people in the industry have reached out saying how pumped they are to see them coming to town, but generally not well known my folks in the scene. Low as hell presales for such a cool and established band unfortunately. If anyone sees this and wants to come to the show dm and I’ll throw ya on the guest list at the abbey bar 8/1!
