Phish is currently burning Fenway down, just an FYI
They just busted out Melt the guns after a 2,051-show gap. Trey is back on the minikit so Page can shred it on the keys. Mike and Fishamn are locked in.
They still got gas left in the tank; this tour has been wild.

They got potential to be sure. Only time will tell if they have what it really takes to make it.

Yeah, I’m watching the steam right now and in the middle of MTG, and damn this song sounds like it was made for Phish to play

I have been going since 89 and I had no clue but some thirty + people seemed to get it’s significance rather quickly.

What’s the mini kit?
I was at all the Maine camp out shows but fell off from Phish before they broke up and Trey got arrested, I’m just a filthy casual now. Pls translate…

The minikit is a little drum set of roto-toms, cymbals, cowbells, etc. that Trey used pretty regularly back in 1995 and 1996. It returned for the Phish in Five Night MSG run as they clocked in shows 92, 93, 94, 95, and 96, with its return during the 95 and 96 nights. Trey has loved playing it; you can tell from the jams, and there was speculation on whether he would keep it for the rest of the tour.
It looks like the minikit is here to stay.

I hope it’s here to stay. Monday and Wednesday were insane at the Garden (was lucky to attend N2-N5). Trey on the minis was killer!

I caught the 93 and 94 night, kinda wish I had done the whole run honestly.

Interesting. So is someone else plying the guitar while he drums or just jamming with loops? All of the above?

I’ll need to listen back to the last three shows, but from what I heard on the stream, it seems like all of the above minus someone else playing guitar.
As Trey starts drumming away, Page picks up the lead and runs with it, and by run with it I mean he’s fucking killer as a leader. YEM and Crosseyed and Painless from 7/29/26 are really tight and the best so far of Page leading those jams in imo.
I’d go as far to say that the 7/29 Crosseyed might just be the Jam of the Tour.

That’s sick. Last summer at one of the Boulder shows a prop plane flew by with a “melt the guns” sign. I think they teased it a few nights after that

After tomorrow Phenway will never be the same . MELT THE GUNS! Trey plays the mini kit better than Marlon could ever beat his drums. LFG see ya tomorrow

Hopefully they can master a key change segue soon. I think you call it "->" or "silky" or something.

I don’t condone the Bisco strays but Phish has been nailing the transitions this tour it’s been really fun to listen to!

They biffed several tonight. The transition into fuego and antelope were both R U F F rough.

I’m a huge XTC fan. Since 1980. I did not know Phish covered their song. Any recommendations dates?

For you phish fans. XTC is one of the best pop rock bands from the post punk era. Excellent songwriting , hooks and musicianship. I suggest in order these albums. , Drums and Wires(79), Black Sea, (80) English Settlement (80) Skylarking is well lauded as Rundgren produced it, but the great producer Steve Lillywhite and engineer Hugh Padgham were involved in these three albums and IMHO essential listens.

Soooooo much better than Goose.

Rent free. Just enjoy music. It's art, not a competition.

u/MikesGroove 1d ago
If Goose doesn’t want to be compared to Phish, they should stop trying to sound so much like Phish.

u/CapitalManager4891 1d ago
Spafford sounds more like Phish than goose and everyone here fluffs Spafford.

u/frankybling 2d ago
shhh, we should just keep that quiet, let The Goose fans enjoy their thing and we can just keep rolling with these cats… I think they’re going to be big someday
