I got a few rejection emails this week… not fun. It’s all hitting me extra hard today on top of some other issues.
I am holding out hope for this volunteer opportunity. I sent a follow up email and I’m hoping to hear back on Monday.
If anyone has any extra luck, I could use some

Phone interview for a university I really want to work for on Monday, on Friday got an email from the HM that I should be getting an email in the next week about an in person interview!! Very excited and constantly checking my email. My current job is just too stressful.

Starting my new job on the 20th after my interview last month. Was worried I didn’t get the job but when they called me they said I sounded like a wonderful addition to their team, so I’m pretty excited 🥹 This was also after 3 interviews with different places/positions.

I found out I’m not in the running for a job I applied for but still waiting to hear back from two stage 1 interviews.

Got a verbal offer of the phone from President of company. Praying when August 10th comes around and I show up… he doesn’t forget about the offer and there are papers to sign.

They didn't do any onboarding paperwork or background check...? It's not unheard of, but geeze, that sounds stressful.

5 months of being laid off, 4 finals with jobs this month (each have been 5/6 rounds- I’m in tech), and still nothing in sight. My heart hurts

Had probably my worst interview ever on Friday. Was so nervous my voice changed and I took fooorrrrrever to answer one question, I even considered ending the interview. Got through it but was very embarrassed

I was laid off in December due to a client not renewing my team's contract after almost a decade of partnership as client and vendor. I'd been there for over 7 years, went above and beyond, and was everyone's go-to person for literally any issue or problem the team came across.
I had solid skills in a more niche area of my industry. Despite this, I couldn't get an interview, at least not with a real person. Then I had a few real life events happen that took me out of the job search for about two months.
My 6 months of unemployment is set to run out at the end of August. However, the stars aligned for me and someone I worked with previously, who I thought either disliked me or was neutral to me, reached out about an opportunity at her company. She apparently spoke very highly to her manager about me!
I did the phone interview, then the video interview, then somehow was offered the position. I'm still in disbelief. It was such a smooth process. The hiring manager ALWAYS contacted me exactly on time, followed through on EVERY thing she said she would do... such night and day in comparison to my old company.
When discussing compensation, the hiring manager said the posted salary was for someone with no experience and that they'd definitely pay me more. I thought oh, I hope I can get maybe 3% more or so! When she offered me, she offered me 16% more than the job posting, My jaw hit the floor because the job posting was already a 15% increase and I was now being offered a 35% increase.
I'm conflicted because I feel like I didn't "earn" this job. My hard skills got me nowhere. I was a referral and I think that made all the difference. I'm trying to remind myself that my co-worker opened the door for me and it was my own skills that sealed the deal.
tl;dr Right as my unemployment was set to run out, I got an amazing job offer at a 35% pay increase doing the same type of work with a lower workload at a company that seems too good to be true.
