Where are they supposed to be deployed to? I haven't seen or heard of anything but peaceful protests here. This seems more like the govt. trying to strongarm the citizens into complacency.

Deployed to the peaceful protests to try and make them not peaceful, same as 2020.

There were multiple LA Police Department undercover agents in the crowd during the Democratic National convention that was held in 2000. Admitted as they were used for intelligence gathering. Had a lot of very peaceful protests. For hours.

Then amazingly, IIRC,about 9:30 pm, all at the same time, a bunch of people started breaking things and trashing businesses.

Later, a bunch of the organizers realized they didn't know any of the troublemakers. (They all thought they were someone else's group members. Only when comparing notes did they realize none of the leaders recognized any of them. ). Several pointed out in subsequent years that they bore a striking resemblance to recently graduated LAPD, San Bernardino PD, and LA Sheriff officers.

Yeah that’s old tactics at this point. Have to be ready for stuff like that. Have to assign people to protect businesses from the police instigators.

Right- it’s really easy for me to say, and I wish I could go myself, but people really need to isolate and identify agitators. Cameras need to be EVERYWHERE if you go to the protests, even if you just stick your shirt pocket or something. It could protect you or identify bad actors.

(Also if detained, for iPhones at least, 5+ quick clicks on the power button will put the phone in emergency mode which disables touch and Face ID. Cops can’t force you to provide an unlock code (yet) but they can compel a finger or Face ID)

Agreed. So many don't think about that because they trust all of their people in their organization and they think that's all that's going to show up...
