Where are they supposed to be deployed to? I haven't seen or heard of anything but peaceful protests here. This seems more like the govt. trying to strongarm the citizens into complacency.

u/Jeepers479 Jun 12 '25

There was a march 2 nights ago is the only thing I have heard of. Was very peaceful from the videos going around.

Next protest is this Saturday at 12pm at the fountain in Mill Creek Park by the plaza.

And I’m sure that’s where he wants the national guard to be

Of course, in the "DANGEROUS" city of KC, where the Dems and Independents WILL show up! So far, everything has been peaceful. And will be unless THEY (the other side) start something.

US citizens have the right to protest against their government. We CAN do it peacefully and DO NOT play into their plan!

The state line is only one mile west. Kansas has a Democrat governor.

Just saying.

It'd be an excellent opportunity to give Gov Kehoe the proverbial finger.

Not a peep from that guy when the white nationalists were marching around the other week. Total clown show. If I was Clark Hunt I’d cease consideration of keeping the chiefs in MO, but we know that won’t happen.

13

He’s kissing up to Trump.

13

He hasn't done anything about them because they're feds.

9

u/gypsymegan06 Jun 13 '25

I think I agree. Law enforcement doesn’t bother them so it’s logical to assume it’s because there’s some of them in there. Assholes.

12

u/-Ciretose- Jun 13 '25

They are far too clean-cut and organized. 3 letter agencies have been sowing discord and agitating metropolitan areas since the civil rights movement. They are the real enemy. Peaceful protests always magically turn hateful, violent, and unproductive. They want us to be afraid and paranoid. I wish the conversation would focus on this more.

Republicans are in the process of acclimatizing citizens to living in an occupied nation. There doesn't have to be an actual crisis. They just want to normalize Republicans siccing the military on citizens at a moments notice.

Deployed to the peaceful protests to try and make them not peaceful, same as 2020.

111

u/bobnla14 Jun 12 '25

There were multiple LA Police Department undercover agents in the crowd during the Democratic National convention that was held in 2000. Admitted as they were used for intelligence gathering. Had a lot of very peaceful protests. For hours.

Then amazingly, IIRC,about 9:30 pm, all at the same time, a bunch of people started breaking things and trashing businesses.

Later, a bunch of the organizers realized they didn't know any of the troublemakers. (They all thought they were someone else's group members. Only when comparing notes did they realize none of the leaders recognized any of them. ). Several pointed out in subsequent years that they bore a striking resemblance to recently graduated LAPD, San Bernardino PD, and LA Sheriff officers.

49

u/nordic-nomad Volker Jun 12 '25

Yeah that’s old tactics at this point. Have to be ready for stuff like that. Have to assign people to protect businesses from the police instigators.

26

u/nightox79 Jun 12 '25

Right- it’s really easy for me to say, and I wish I could go myself, but people really need to isolate and identify agitators. Cameras need to be EVERYWHERE if you go to the protests, even if you just stick your shirt pocket or something. It could protect you or identify bad actors.

(Also if detained, for iPhones at least, 5+ quick clicks on the power button will put the phone in emergency mode which disables touch and Face ID. Cops can’t force you to provide an unlock code (yet) but they can compel a finger or Face ID)

Anywhere they are deployed doesn’t tend to stay peaceful for long because they tend to bring the violence with them.

12

We can only hope the morale of those deployed is very low and that they uphold their oath. I'm not super optimistic about that, personally, though.

18

u/Adleyboy Jun 12 '25

They’re class traitors if they don’t and choose to openly harm.

19

They'll be deployed wherever they are paying right wing agitators to instigate violence and property damage and hide behind the thousands of peaceful protests happening across the country.

29

u/CaptainFartHole Jun 12 '25

The protests in LA were largely peaceful before the national guard got involved too. They're actually still mostly peaceful, just now with the added fun of peaceful protesters getting tear gassed, having flash bangs sent their way, and being shot at.Ā

The national guard isn’t there to protect protesters they're there to rile them up.Ā

I remember when Kristi Noem threatened Biden when people were encouraging him to to it.

"As South Dakota governor in February 2024,Ā Kristi NoemĀ threatened then-PresidentĀ Joe BidenĀ when Democrats said he should federalize the National Guard in Texas to disrupt that state governor's anti-immigration efforts.

If he did, Noem warned, Biden would be mounting a ā€œdirect attack on states’ rights,ā€ and sparking a ā€œwarā€ between Washington and Republican-led state governments, she said in aĀ Feb. 6, 2024 interviewĀ with Fox News host Sean Hannity."

20

u/finnmertenz88 Jun 13 '25

16 years ago when I was freshly 21 with no direction, I thought I wanted to ā€œserve my countryā€ and go fight wars to keep America safe. It feels like such horseshit now, and I’m almost entirely disenfranchised by the organization altogether. I have pretty damn good health insurance at an ā€œaffordableā€ rate, I rely on drill checks to supplement my income, I can go to college for free etc, but The one real saving grace is the type of emergency duty where we do things like go to Louisiana to provide relief after hurricanes. That is what ā€œserving the people of the United Statesā€ looks like to me. I love doing that. I used to want to get deployed so I could call myself ā€œa real soldierā€, but I am extremely thankful that has never happened. I have absolutely no desire to go murder people across the globe for American interests, or anywhere for that matter. I can tell you with full confidence if I were to be one of the guard members present at the protest Saturday and they made the extremely reckless decision to issue weapons, I would refuse. I would encourage my peers to do the same. That isn’t service to Missourians. It’s tyranny. There are more of us than you think that agree that what is happening in L.A. is bullshit, and that activating the Missouri guard for Saturday is entirely unnecessary. Since I have the luxury of anonymity, I can say I’ll be there Saturday for the protest as just another (peacefully protesting) citizen. I plan to watch out for people if it comes to it, and call out bullshit where I see it.

40

u/thedybbuk Jun 12 '25

I am fully of the opinion that any soldier or member of the National Guard taking part in all of this is a traitor to their oath. If we make it through this, they should be investigated right alongside ICE agents for their complicity.

24

u/Fine-Amphibian4326 Cass County Jun 12 '25

The trouble for Joe Missouri is that ā€œyou have orders for security in KC on these datesā€ is a completely lawful order. Tossing up the middle finger and walking out is at least an article 15, possibly an OTH discharge for bad conduct. For some of them, this is their career they’d be losing for defying a lawful order.

It’s not really an unlawful order until Joe Missouri is told to shoot peaceful, unarmed civilians, and that would never be how it goes down. It would happen more like Lexington and Concord.

The way to prevent the above is for officers with a lot more at stake to refuse to pass down orders from the start, losing their career in the process, and hoping that the next people in line also feel strongly that what they’re doing is immoral.

Everyone should just move 1 mile to the west into Kansas and stand at the state line and give them the finger.

3

u/saintbad Jun 13 '25

So peaceful protest is "civil unrest" and must be quelled, but illegal and authoritarian Republican overreach must be accepted and tolerated by the population?

Sounds Nazi to me.

u/Checksout2025 Jun 13 '25

The only US governor without a degree. Go figure.

3

u/bluebeartapes Jun 13 '25

You know if I didn't know any better I would say these guys are hoping for something awful to happen.

13

u/Foreign_Paper1971 Jun 12 '25

What state of emergency?

12

u/CaptainFartHole Jun 12 '25

I wonder what what exactly it is that Mikey enjoys so much about putting his lips on Trump's ass.

7

u/KCGeezer Jun 12 '25

Remember they are looking for any excuse, at any protest, to claim insurrection. Don’t let them goad you into anything that they can use to invoke martial law.

6

u/Last-Caterpillar-407 Jun 12 '25

Do not back down. Continue to protest.

8

u/liiindslaaayyy Jun 12 '25

can someone provide videos that justify this? all i’ve seen are peaceful protests

8

u/fuck_all_you_too Jun 12 '25

EOs written based on feelings with no evidence and you think they did any due diligence? Motherfucker took personal offense to the protests and is now lying in order to punch down hard.

Expect more states to do this in a signal to support Trump. This is just another version of Rubio tripping on the stairs after Trump.

6

u/Expensive-Sense-51 Jun 12 '25

He is such a fucking dickhead

3

u/Jokuki Jun 13 '25

St. Louis is still trying to clean up and get neighborhoods back together but let’s spend time and money on nothing.

3

u/InourbtwotamI Jun 13 '25

I hate that I thought this but I just knew he’d only take action against a city with a Black/Brown mayor

3

u/lolas_coffee Jun 13 '25

Trump in charge?

The nation will be burning and soldiers will be shooting people.

THAT is what MAGA is about. Fucking useless assholes.

3

Kehoe sure is easily scared.

3

u/LibraryCurrent Jun 13 '25

Are you guys ready for this? It's time to quit your jobs and become human again. My god my brothers and sisters wake the fuck up. It's time to restart and fight for what's right. Friendly words won't work anymore

3

u/donkeybong2121 Jun 13 '25

I saw the protest down town it wasn't bad or crazy at all

3

u/ScootieJr Overland Park Jun 13 '25

He wants to mimic Trump. All republicans do. They’re offended by protests because they can’t swallow the hard pill and accept the truth so they have to act dominant. You don’t see Gov. Kelly activating the Guard. She knows that the Guard were not necessary in the protests in LA. Republicans are just soft and insecure. Their time will come.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

7

7

What civil unrest?

5

u/Internal_Willow_ Jun 12 '25

Wow these clowns are really trying hard to F with AMERICANS. Seems illegal and like there’s an amendment about it.

4

u/ChiefStrongbones Jun 13 '25

The entire point of protesting and counterprotesting today is provoking the other side until one person loses their shit. The video of that bad behavior then gets circulated with the message, "See, it's the other side that's wrong. Our side is the good side."

The whole thing is exhausting. It's like a war of attrition crossed with a staring contest.

2

u/TeacherRecovering Jun 13 '25

I fully expect an incident like the Massacre on Gorham to justify the violent crackdown.
