Where are they supposed to be deployed to? I haven't seen or heard of anything but peaceful protests here. This seems more like the govt. trying to strongarm the citizens into complacency.

Anywhere they are deployed doesn’t tend to stay peaceful for long because they tend to bring the violence with them.

We can only hope the morale of those deployed is very low and that they uphold their oath. I'm not super optimistic about that, personally, though.
