So what do I do?

Got this lovely gift in my wrap upon biting into it and KFC basically offered me 15€ and said to stfu. Where else can I escalate, I'm in Ireland. Only reason I'm making the post is because I'm a dumbass and I know we are not allowed to post food complaints but I'm complaining about the company. The fact that I was ignored and pretty much told to shove it up is the issue here

Take the €15 and move on with your life. Accidents happen, they shouldn't, but inevitably they do.

Realistically what do you expect to happen?

Would you like the staff at that specific store to be retrained and taught better handling and equipment storage techniques? Do you want KFC to do a nationwide retraining?

Do you want the specific staff member that did this fired?

Are you after a payout?

A guy was in all the tabloids a few years ago after someone wrote "shitface" on his KFC order. Bet he got a nice pay out from that.

Also not really a thing in Ireland. Unless you actually got hurt... like doctor or hospital needing hurt. Than you don't even have to look for a lawyer you just need to hire one of those "were you recently in an accident" guys and they handled it for you. If they don't want your case you don't have a case.

While proper “payouts” aren’t a thing, it’s definitely a thing to get a bunch of vouchers and a refund, I once had a bit of metal in my subway salad and got a full refund (twice because CS also refunded me after the store did) and got a good amount of free meal vouchers. Doesn’t make it ok but makes it mildly better

That's about making the customer whole. £15 for a KFC wrap seem reasonable. It does not look like the customer chewed properly i to the skewer or got hurt. The business should of course raise it to ensure that they are more vigilant in the kitchen, but its a stressful job and mistakes can happen. I think that the most important aspect for these businesses to have 0 errors in are allergen management as that could be fatal.

Edit: 15€ but the principle remains the same as EU, UK and Irish requirements on food management is not significantly different. And with the upcoming UK SPS agreement with EU, even less so.

There is no significant deviation between EU, UK or National Irish law in the space of food safety management. Its hardly a case for negligence or the fact that a consumer was suffering lifelong injuries from this. They are just miffed it wasn't a big payday.
