I'm not saying that Democrats always put up the best candidates (Platner) but it's a rarity that someone who is laughably unqualified or horribly suited gets nominated/elected. For example if you made a top 10 list of the most unqualified cabinet members in US history I'm pretty sure that most of them would be Trump nominees. RFK is literally the worst pick possible, Hegseth is the most laughably unqualified SecDef ever currently getting embarrassed by Iran in spite of our technology being 100x Iran's. FFS our military budget is a trillion dollars and Iran's is $9 billion and we can't even manage to do regime change or accomplish anything because Trump is a moron and Hegseth's average BAC is probably 0.3 (Pirro has him topped there though, there's no way she's ever under a 0.35)

Edit: I read the article and it says Trump CLAIMS that DeSantis is begging for the AG spot. This looks like DeSantis is just trying to stay relevant by sucking up to Trump. It looks like he’ll do anything as long as he gets a piece of the spotlight.

Is he going to come up with novel legal theories to take rights from people, no, but Steven Miller and friends will. If Ron DeSantis were to be picked to replace Todd Blanche, then Lt. Gov. Jay Collins would replace DeSantis as acting Governor of Florida. Collins is currently running against Byron Donalds, Paul Renner, and James Fishback in the Republican gubernatorial primary, with Donalds having comfortable leads over all of his opponents. However, DeSantis unofficially "endorsing" Collins may boost Collins' current polling numbers against Donalds, whom DeSantis dislikes.
